There is a Mora 18 Cu Ft fridge/freezer like the Avanti for $348 (+ $49.97 freight, like the Avanti.)
Any self defrosting?
Chest freezers are rarely auto defrost.
I bought the Frigidaire 6.5 ft upright freezer at the end of Dec. and it is working well. I have not had to defrost it yet. The area around the top shelf and the top shelf itself has gotten crusty, but I use the included ice scraper to scrape those down (using a hand towel to catch the ice shavings) and that little bit of maintenance has kept me from having to do an entire manual defrost. I’ve not experienced any significant increase in my electricity bill, either.
