Get A $30 Walmart Gift Card For Your Old Car Seats Between September 16-30!
Between September 16-30 you can bring in any old car seats to a Walmart customer service clerk at select stores, and receive a $30 Walmart Gift Card for trading it in!
Find eligible Walmart stores by entering your location here.
Limit 2 trade-ins per household.
Booster seats are not eligible for trade-in.
Walmart gift cards never expire and can be used in-store or online.
It’s important to check the expiration date printed on carseats as they do break down over time. Carseats in an accident should be discarded immediately.
You can also trade-in your car seat to Target between September 3-13 and receive a 20% off coupon towards a new car seat, stroller, or select baby gear.
Will you trade-in an old car seat during this event?

I don’t have a Walmart near me, but I have an old car seat that I don’t need anymore so can use Target. Does anyone know how long after I trade in at Target do I have to use the 20% off coupon for another car seat? Wanted to know if need to use right away or if I have some time…
Where do you live with no Walmart nearby?
The whole city of Los Angeles does not have any walmart
And, apparently same is true for New York City, San Francisco, Detroit, Seattle and Boston
There are tons of WalMarts in the suburbs around Seattle. The same is true for San Francisco. And probably for every other city you listed.
There’s a Walmart in Burbank and one in Van nuys. Both about half hour drive from La Brea/ fairfax
Not true the gov doesnt let walmart build bc it is a monopoly
when & where
Get ready! Car seat trade-in returns to all Target stores September 3-13, 2019.
coupon & trade-in details
When you bring your car seat to Guest Services, you’ll get a coupon for 20% off a new car seat, stroller or select baby gear. The coupon is valid through September 14, 2019.
Target will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged. Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management.
Why?
Does it have to be a carseat that I bought at Walmart?
do i have to buy a new carseat then
Just called the walmart in my area. They knew nothing about it
I chatted with them just now, and they said that the list of stores will be released later: “Kindly check again some other time on that link and we will post the official list on the site.” not sure if that’s correct, but I couldn’t find it anywhere
i went on the website i put in the zip and it came out that the location near me in suffern ny is participating so i went in to the store and they told me they are not participatin AND also it only carseats that had a recall on them!!!
is that true only if had a recall ???
and what do i do about the location
thanx
Hmm… Gotta love that certain locations are on Shabbos only, including Lakewood.
Huh?
“Howell Supercenter
September 16-30, 2019
Open-Close”
You can do this every day from now though 9/30.
I had looked it up when the program was announced a little while ago, and it was only for the daytime hours of Sep 29th. I’m glad they changed it.
There are specific days and hours for the trade in. It seems Monsey Wal Mart is NOT included
See https://www.walmart.com/cp/best-of-baby-month-in-store-events/4306127
There is a link to check for trade-in details in the post.
The link you posted is for “Baby in-store event: Sept. 28, 29, or 30
Join us at a participating Walmart to learn more about your baby’s health & safety.”
That has no connection to the car seat trade-in as far as I know.
Click the “find eligible Walmart stores…” link in Dan’s post, put in your zip code to the left of “GO”, scroll down, and you will get a list of participating stores and how far they are from your zip code. Suffern is on the list. There are no explicit hours posted for any store.
does anyone know if a booster seat will qualify?
“Booster seats are not eligible for trade-in.”
i dont need new car seats . can just get the GC?
do they check the condition and any expiration date on the car seats?
my infant car seat is bought in 2013 and the toddler car seat in 2015. Some are saying they have expiration dates which i never knew
Wal-Mart gives you a gc which u can use for anything. I don’t think they care about the condition of the car seat, but general ppl aren’t going to return a perfectly good car seat.
I went to a store listed on their website showing partipating locations. I loaded 2 car seats into a cart in the 90 degree heat and then inside they said they aren’t participating. I called corporate and stores that are listed can opt out if the manager wants to. So you might call to confirm if you are having to go out of your way. There is another store in this town that I called that will take them at least but it’s a project for another day.
It was so simple no questions asked. Thank you for this information. For a mother of 4 its helps tremendously.
Thanks for the tip off. Got a new carseat for $18 .
