Btw, Bingo (a kosher Costco style store in Monsey, NY) has a Shabbos lamp dupe for $20 if you live in that area.

Do u know which bulb it’s compatible with? I have a bingo shab lamp and need to replace the bulb.

ED

I replaced mine wh standard lamp leds from Lowes. Brighter light and saved me from buying a new lamp

ED

Bring the lamp with you and show the store rep 🙂

4yourinfo

the opening is very narrow – typical bulbs are very hard to get in

Lev26

Actually it looks like that the shabbos lamp reviewed is the same exact lamp sold in Bingo.

Not available ?!?

Kosher lamp

I just bought a kosher lamp on Amazon and it must have been pretty old because it came with a CFL. Anybody know if these are the same or newer?

JS

What brand is this?

Abe

Just opened up the box and the LED bulb is hanging loose and the lamp won’t turn on. Anyone else have issues with this? Bought through Artscroll

Gloria Silver

I had the regular Shabbos lamp. Decided it was difficult to read with. Purchased the ShabbosLite and love it. Very bright.

Josh

Love the Shabulb. Bought one in 2019 and it lasted until Feb 2025! Unfortunately it cost us $37 in Feb for no reason. Glad it’s down to $25 again.

How do you travel with the Shabbulb to make sure it doesn’t break?
(We have them in every room in our house)

Yael Aldrich

I pop it in the box it came in for travel and switch it out for the regular bulb. That way I see the box on the table/counter and remember to take it with me after Shabbos.

Kosherfoody_quest

JJ you missed the Shabbos Lite (clip). I think it’s by far the most superior, especially for travel. Let me know what you think.

PHX

ShabbosLite® LED Table Lamp is great too.

Fay

Shabboslite is the best. Super bright, multiple light levels, and super easy to pack because it fits in the corner of a suitcase and takes up no room!

Dovid G

While the travel lamp is the brightest, I also found that many times I wanted less light. For example with kids we wanted to dim the light which can be much more easily done with the swivel style.

With the travel lamp you have I think 3 notches where the cover can be locked for different amount of light. But even the smallest setting, had too much light for us.

So while some may be looking for brightest, others may be looking for more flexibility in how much light to produce.

Anyway thanks for the review and all you do!

Myi

My favorite pick is the shabbos travel lamp
Easy to set up and light all around. No need to plug in bulbs. And take the gamble that theres a socket for a bulb. But that bulb is definitely cool.

Yael Aldrich

I took my Shabbulbs to Israel to our rental apartment and found out the lamps there take a different size bulb socket and tried at several hardware stores to find an adapter. Couldn’t find one locally but found on Amazon.

If you feel your traditional Shabbos lamp / Kosher lamp is not bright enough, simply remove the light-blocking sleeve. Voilà! Entire room is lit up!

Anyone have experience with this one? https://www.amazon.com/Enlighten-Shabbos-Shabbat-Bedroom-Dimmable/dp/B0CZ7NFYNM
Been on the fence about buying it, and the higher cost is keeping me from trying it out. Would love to hear reviews

I’ve had this Shabbos lamp for about a year now and absolutely love it—hands down the best one I’ve come across.

Some of the features I really like:
It shines 360°, so it gives equal light to both sides—great if more than one person is using it.
It’s dimmable (with most Shabbos lamps you can narrow the light window, but it still shines at 100%).
The LEDs are in the base and not exposed, so the light feels more like a strong glow than a harsh beam.
The shutter mechanism is super effective—no light leaks at all when it’s closed.

Only thing I wasn’t thrilled about was the LED color—it comes very white and I wanted something warmer. After some consultation with ChatGPT, I ended up getting these lighting filters:

I cut one into a circle and placed it inside the lamp—it worked perfectly.

Would definitely recommend!

It is worth the price.

On the Shabbos Lamp you can change the bulb.
So you can make it brighter id needed by replacing the bulb

FYI there is more to a review than just light such as Looks quality longevity etc. – The travel kosher lamp is very flimsy – also the base tends to move when you turn it etc. the ShabBulb is done once it dies?

Gavriel Stern

You forgot the shabboslite

Louise

When he travels and is stuck for Shabbat, my husband takes a sleep mask with him and then simply leaves the light on in the hotel room. Not the perfect solution but it doesn’t take up any space. I have a Shabbulb for my nightstand lamp at home but I don’t think it would work internationally.

Sam

Thanks
