I know you were offline over shabbat, but on Saturday costco had ipads discounted for around $85 a piece and with the $30 off code people were ordering a bunch for incredible deals. I ordered two and my shopper went to Costco but they were either sold out or not honoring the price and the shoppers were stuck in costco trying to deal with canceled orders and customer service from Instacart (it would not let my shopper cancel nor me so I had to wait over 30 mins on phone to connect to CS to have them manually cancel it – and sadly my shopper was left with NO tip). Many people did get their ipads though if they got on it quick or in certain areas… fun times!

Spoke with customer service rep re discrepancy between the original receipt and the final receipt. Was told they are aware of the issue and that it arose a couple hours ago. They are working to ensure that people are refunded to the amount that they were told they would pay. I asked for a timeline and was told they don’t know yet bc this just arose and they are working on a fix. She said that there would be some form of communication to everyone who had the issue with a resolution of the issue. She again guaranteed me that we would get the full $90 refunded. Here’s hoping she’s right bc they did escalate it to a higher rep.

Even if it was a mistake, my issue is I was told I was gonna be charged less. Got a receipt for it and ended up with a significantly higher charge. That’s grounds for a dispute.

it’s one thing to take advnatage of a price mistake. though possibly that’s already unethical. i don’t think you would find someone who is trying to be very honest and maintain high standards in this area engaging in such practices.
however, it’s another whole level to demand your (possibly unethical) refund when it is refused. and then to say you’re going to dispute the payment with the credit card…

The email confirmation receipt shows a final price with a $90 discount.
They can choose to cancel the order and that’s the end of it, but if they fulfill the order and it’s delivered, charging a higher amount than the original confirmed price in the email makes them the ones not being honest and would warrant a dispute if they don’t honor the quoted price.

It was still cheaper with the $30 off than in warehouse (I ordered same items from the end of last month in warehouse). Had actually planned to make a trip before our trip – but its such a time suck (bwahahah an I think I found a new way to save money by ordering thru Instacart – no impulsive purchases while in store at Costco). But may now buy some InstaCart CG when on sale.

Here’s a wild story for you. They actually honored the deal and we ordered a jewelry with a $90 discount. However, with a delivery person who came to drop it off, they insisted on seeing a passport as ID for the drop off. When we refused to provide a passport as ID, they took the item back to the store.
Just spoke to a csr and was told that they canceled my order because there was something wrong with the promo campaign and that they’re working on getting it fixed as soon as possible. I was told that when it’s sorted out, I should be getting an email with the possibility of recreating the order with the same promotion amount total.
