If one has a subscription can one add a year? Up to how many years can be purchased?

Dan

@Rivketty:
Sure, just click on the renew subscription option.

You should be able to keep buying as many years as you want.

AJ

Thanks Dan, I was looking for a deal to renew my PS subscription. Got another 3 years now.

@dan

In my experience with discountmags, if you have placed an order for a amazing in past 6 months, and order again, they will cancel the second order. I called them and they claim the fulfillment center won’t allow duplicate orders in 6 months.

Dan

@Mike B:
Good data point.
Can always make a subscription in another name and then merge the subscriptions to extend the end date.

If I order the consumer reports magazine will I get access to their website too?

Joe

The CR ipad app subscription comes with the print subscription. (@shmuli – the web site does not…) The nice thing about that is that they have back issues for the last couple years that you can read on the ipad. I had let my subscription lapse last year, and just renewed. I am currently reading through all the issues I missed.
Don’t forget, that CR tests and scores based on what features “they” feel are important. If those features are not important to you, then the scores will not accurately reflect how you should make your purchasing decisions. So don’t just look at the ratings – read the info behind the ratings.

shmuli

@Joe: thanks, I want to get the magazine for that reason, to see what’s behind the ratings.

Andy

I never trust Consumer Reports any more ever since 2010 when the editors told us what a great deal Obamacare was for consumers. Then they told us how we should encourage our congressmen to pass it. Despite what Obama and Consumer Reports said, I have a new plan and doctor as a result. Instead of premiums going down by $2500 mine went up by $6000.

Joe

@Andy @shmuli
ObamaCare is just one example. Although the editor just retired, I always read his column just to laugh at his view of how the world should work. Consumer Reports is one of the most liberal magazines out there, and many of their ratings are biased towards things that liberals care more about than I do. Sure – there is no bias towards advertisers, but there certainly is towards their agendas. When I read reviews about products which I happen to know a great deal, I am always amazed how skewed their view is. Plus, some of the info comes from people who fill out their questionnaire. What always makes me laugh is how they consistently rate Verizon near the top and ATT near the bottom – in all ratings that come from the consumer provided info. But when they did an actual network test, ATT scored much higher. That tells me that Verizon has a much better advertising company… 🙂 And that fact that they have not reprinted or repeated that test for a while tells me that Verizon donates much more money to save the rainforests.
