At least in my house on shabbos we often go back and forth between a regular cholent, a BBQ cholent, and a Yaptzik style cholent. With this you can have all 3 š

Ok Dan,I need a good recipe for yuptzik syle cholent!
@rachel:
My wife and mother both make absolutely killer versions.
I think there’s a thread on DDF already š
Thanks Dan just moved and was looking to get one like this. Thanks for helping me save some money.
BBQ Cholent recipe please!
Yaptzik recipe please!!!!
I ORDERED 2. TYVM DAN
Anyone know the product well?
Doesn’t have many reviews on amazon.
Not working for me .
@DAN can u please give a link for the yaptchik kugel it sounds like it has potential to be m’ayin olam habah
2.5 Quart is pretty small so if you have a large family be carefull
… And the reviews both on amazon and kohls seem to be quite mixed.
One concern would be the openin that would allow lots of heat and moisture to escape over the night and morning of Shabbos.
Thanks Dan! Wife’s been wanting one of these ever since my cousin made a chili/taco/chulent Shabbos a while back.
For those worried about the size, it’s 2.5 quarts per mini-pot, for a total of 7.5 quarts which is quite a lot of chulent overall. It just means that not everybody can take a full plate of each chulent.
once again i say thank you. bought 2, one for me one for my mom. i just got married and i had a friend who was going to get me a crock pot. i told him instead to now get me a shabbat hot plate.
will the codes work site wide?
2.5 too small. my crock pot is 6 qt. what would I do with a 2.5?
Great find still, can codes be used for any larger items? doesnt have to be a crock
what else are the codes good for?
@YY: It says in the post:
Three 2.5-qt. covered vessels (7.5qt total capacity)
In other words, this crock pot setup gives you an additional 1.5 quarts over what you’ve got now, plus the ability to mix it up with different kinds of chulent (or other stuff, like tacos, chili, whatever) at the same time.
no thanks, wont work.
is store pickup available for this?
I have this product and we love it. I do chulent, crock pot kugel and soup. I have everything in one no blech needed. Best thing I bought. Also, on chol hamoed I made veg. Soup in one potatoes in another and meat in third. I came home after an exhausting day to delcious hot food.
chaya, can u pls share detailed receipes? would love it!
do u put wanter under a bag in each one, and kugel in a bag, for example?
Do u leave it for shabbos day? (cook many hours + nite)?
would give anyone my yummy recipe if you buy me one from Kohls. and just so you know you would be thanking me…
I cook everything without bag although you can do cholent with a bag if you prefer. I heat crockpot about hour before I make kugel and put some oil on bottom of pot I use for kugel. I then make kugel mixture the way I would make it and pour kugel mixture in. Cook about three hours on high and then low until shabbos morning. You get a crusty delicious kugel that slides out of the pot beautifully.
thanks for the tip. eggs ok? was told not to cook eggs in crock pot by the manufacture helpline. how long would it take to have it fully cooked for midweek? easy to clean?
does kugel have enough liquids to cook till shabbos lunch? add more than usual?
Do you do 2 crocks for shabbos, one cholent one kugel?
