Update: I was just informed that this offer is being pulled today (despite the stated 12/31 expiration)!
All Gevalia coffee, even the flavored varieties, are certified kosher parve by the OK (Each individual coffee package has the OK symbol on it). The unflavored coffees are even certified kosher for Passover!
All 40 varieties of coffee are available in Whole Bean or Ground and come in Regular or Decaf.
Signing up for the program does opt you in for automatic future shipments, but you can opt-out on the Gevalia site by going to “My Account”, click on “auto delivery orders,” click on your order number, and then click on “cancel my auto delivery subscription.” You can also call them at 800-438-2542 at any time. Even if you cancel your subscription you still get to keep the coffeemaker and the 4 boxes of coffee for just the $9.99 you paid with no future obligations.
There is also a satisfaction guarantee, if you do not like the coffee you can request a refund or replacement.
What’s your favorite flavor?

@Yankel: wait till they ship it.
thanks
my order came out to $9.99 …. Just sayin’
can the coffemaker be used on shabbos?
@shabbos: how will you turn it on???
idk, can it stay warm from friday afternoon to shabbos morning?
@shabbos: I once asked a rav, he said no. but thats just me…
@ahhh: yes the coffee is good
thanks dan
shabbos coffee — make the coffee strong refrigerate the pot and add lots of milk for a sick iced coffee
@qwerty:
You can set it to turn on with a Shabbos clock but you can not do bishul, even with timer. I used a timer so I had fresh coffee brewing to wake me up from the smell in the morning.
I got a deal like this from them like 13 years ago. I would have kept the subscription but I left the country soon after so I cancelled (I hope I remembered to cancel).
This is great. Yes the coffee is really good. I find the best to be their select varietals like the Costa Rica Peaberry
can i cancel the future shipment before they send me the 1st/ or they will see that i canceled and they wont sent to me?
I paid 10.99!!!!!
I got it but now I am not sure I want to cancel, this coffee tastes awesome!
Got it delivered. 12 cups is big for my needs, but really tasty coffee!
I love this deal. This is the second one I’m getting!!!
Thanks a lot DAN!!!
It’s one of those rare deals where I didn’t think I would reorder, but I have been drinking coffee for many years and they absolutely blow away any competition.
@Moish:
The coffees do have hechshers on them.
Look at the list I linked to.
I orderd it and wen it arived canceld and orderd again and got a second coffee maker and 4 packs of coffe whats interesting is that I got charged $9.99 and after canceling I got back a credit of $10.99
Anyone know which are good flavors?
FOR THE RECORD THE TEAS ARE NOT UNDER THE OK (KASHRUS)
I ordered 2 coffees and 2 teas. The coffees had symbols but the teas did not. I called OK and they said they do not do the teas. I assume that means that they can not be used. Does anyone know anything about this?
How many ounces in a coffee package?
@Gershon:
Answering my own question; 8 oz. for nearly all sold by mail (i.e. not in stores). Two pounds of coffee for $9.99 shipped is a good deal even without the coffee maker.
I had some technical trouble placing my order and called their customer service. This offer is NOT a Gevalia offer; it’s a third party offer for Gevalia products, which is still valid. However, customer service did not/could not help me (my screen had frozen during the order and I couldn’t get out).
In the end, I opened another window, saw my cart with the coffee and coffeemaker and proceeded to checkout. That time it worked.
@shabbos: make iced cofee put in fridge on friday then use on !schabes!
do i have to use only gevalias coffee in the machine? or can i use other coffee’s?
What are the best dark roast flavors?
@GREAT DEAL:
Any coffee will work.
Could someone explain me how this works. I pay 9.99 and get a coffee maker with coffee and then they’re going to charge my credit card each month????
@Eve:
You can cancel the auto-order after you get the machine and coffee if you want. Otherwise you get charged for additional orders at whatever interval you set up.
you can set up the intervals for as much as 26 weeks apart, which gives you time to cancel
i have until sometime in january, in case i forget
you can also edit the auto order to only 1 bag of coffee, again, in case you forget, it wont cost you as much
@dovid: How did you cancel the order that you got credit back?
Something is wrong with their site I was not able to get past free gift.
I like the Creme Brulee!! Good Stuff!
Dan,I saw that you said if you get too many additional card holders on your AMEX account they may do a financial review on your account. I ordered 100 additional cards on my business card account (for Small Business Sat.) and don’t really want to get reviewed. Do you think that I should just cancel the card? What happens if the review shows that I don’t make what I said I was making?
@Iz
They let u add 100 users??? and without Ss numbers???
@Yaks: you do need the numbers
the site is not letting me past the “free gift”!
@ahhh:
It’s great!
@shabbos:
It only stays warm for about an hour.
@Shmuel Boruch:
I ASKED MY RUV IF ITS ALLOWED AND THE ANSWER WAS NO!
You can set it to turn on with a Shabbos clock but you can not do bishul, even with timer. I used a timer so I had fresh coffee brewing to wake me up from the smell in the morning.
I am also having trouble selecting the free gift, and I tried three different browsers. Is this still working? Thanks
I didn’t ask for it just cancelled online and got a credit of $19.99 but I guess I was only so lucky 1 out of the 4 times I did it
can i get a 220v machine for use in israel?
If I did this deal once before a while back, Can I do it again? & if yes can I use the same cc?
I did it 4 times one after another I canceld & reordered the same day with the same cc
dan,
finally got matched to 30 k for freedom sign up. thanks

i ordered the coffee maker and when i opened the box, the glass kettle was cracked, so i called up gevalia and since this deal is from a 3rd party offer, they refunded but i had to start again to get another coffee maker-so i ordered another one and the same thing happened, i received a cracked kettle, so i called them again and this time they sent me another one without me ordering again.. so now i have 3 coffee makers (2 with cracked kettles, but that’s ok since its easy to just buy another kettle..) and 8 boxes of coffee for just $9.99!!!!!
@dave:
Umm..what in the world does that have to do with Gevalia coffee? Thats what the forums are for 🙂
sTARK SAYS YOU CAN IT NEEDS TO BE SET UP BEFORE SHOBBOS THOUGH MACHINE COMES WITH AN AUTOSET FEATUEE
A coffee maker is NOT allowed to be placed on timer. It’s assur to mivashel (cook) with a timer. It’s no different than setting a timer for shabbos day to warm up soup – it’s 100% assur. You can make freshly brewed coffee on shabbos by using the cone cups and filter. (Be careful how to dispose of the filter though – you can’t sqeeze..) And make sure while pouring water through the filter to use a kli shlishi.
I also could not get past the free gift. It doesn’t even show the free gift. Help?
@Fan of Dan: You should check with your Rav, but I believe you are still doing the melacha of bishul on shabbos, even though you aren’t drinking it, you ARE cooking on shabbos, which is forbidden.
Update: Site works now.
@Nissim- just tried with a few different browsers and cant get past free gift- what’s your secret?
No secret. Keep trying. Perhaps try in Incognito window with Chrome, or PrivateBrowsing with IE.
I ordered lsat week on wednesday, it shipped thursday and i cancelled the auto delivery yesterday, and just reordered the whole package again wtih no issue. I even signed into my account in case they would claim that I wasn’t being honest, and it all went through smoothly.
Just noticed that the regular prices for coffee all have decaf at about 80 cents more per package – that’s a very good sign as higher quality beans are needed to make decaf if you want to maintain the quality as the decaffination process takes something out of the beans…(see the good eats episode on coffee for more details, yay alton brown!!)
Nissim, even with cone filter on cup its assur on shabbos, borrer.
@Nissim: @Nissim: @Nissim:
I have no idea which one is a good coffee, i ordered breakfast blend i think i had it once, french vanilla, traditional roast and signature blend hope its good, any one knows better?
I put in an order about one hour ago and it went through. I just checked the order detail and it shows all four coffees but under the coffee maker it says “cancelled” in parenthesis.
It seems like the coffeemaker special has ended and the 10 dollars is now only good for the four coffees (which happens to be an excellent deal in it of its self).
I finally got it through, including the coffeemaker it seems. Thanks!
Thanks Dan and thanks for the tip about how to get the free gift. I also tried it on different browsers to no avail, until I tried your trick. Thanks
@borrer, It’s not considered borrer. There’s a gemara in Mesechta Shabbos that talks about a similar process using wine sediment and running water through it to extract it’s taste via a cloth. It’s mutur.
@Yoily, so far, I think I like Creme Berlee the best!
…are the coffee flavors pareve or dairy?
Parve
@Nissim:
@Nissim
Are you sure that we poskin like that opinion in the gemara? Are you basing your opinion that its mutur solely on that gemara because I have been told the only way to make coffee on shabbos is either instant or watering down an extremely strongly brewed coffee with hot water in a kli shlishi.
@Mike, Poskim have agreed with this. It wasn’t paskin-ed solely on the Gemara. It’s a sevara. I’m taking no achrais, I’m just relaying a psak from a well known posek.
I just checked the status of my order (placed 10/16/12) and it said the boxes of coffee were shipped but the coffeemaker was canceled! When I called they said that they dont have any coffeemakers left. They refunded the $10 and let me keep the coffee. Now I have coffee but no coffeemaker! But it was free so I’ll deal with it 🙂
I had the same experience. I got my coffee but no coffeemaker. They refunded my coffee, so I too have coffee for free but no coffeemaker.
@YG: I ordered on the same day that Dan posted the update that the offer was about to be pulled. They shipped the boxes of coffee and charged my credit card $9.99, but the status shown next to the coffeemaker was “cancelled”. However, I did not contact them at all. A few weeks passed and then they placed a new order for a coffeemaker for $0 and shipped it to me. It might be a different model, because they apparently sold out the model that they originally intended to include with this offer.
