Shosh

do you have any deal/advice for selling on cardcash,

netlevy

Guys, just so you know , percents are not combinable
so when it says 3.5% off plus 5% it doesn’t mean 8.5% since the 5% is off the amount you pay, not the full price of the cards

Pedantic, I realize

Of course they’re combinable. It’s just that the combination process isn’t a simple additive one. It’s multiplicative on 1-p instead of additive on p.

To take your example, 3.5% off plus 5% off is (100% – 3.5%) * (100* – 5%) of the original price, which is to say 96.5% * 95% of the original price, which in turn is to say 91.675% of the original price, which in its own turn is to say 8.325% off of the original price.

netlevy

that’s exactly what i meant genius!

Pedantic, I realize

Yes. I was being pedantic about the English, not the Math. Or at least not the Arithmetic, since so much of actual Math relies on using precise definitions.

Be very cautious if you decide to buy gift cards from cardcash. I bought a bunch of Publix gift cards a couple of months ago. They were all returned-merchandise gift cards (I know, not a problem…) but at least half of them did not have the full value on them. One had a zero balance, several were missing a few dollars and one was missing over $20. And I had bought two $50 gas-station gift cards, one of which had nothing on it.

Now, their Dan’s Deals person is very nice and they do respond to problems (they refunded my money after going back and forth a few times). But the responsibility is all on you.

Other card resellers that I have done business with have a six-month guarantee and I have never ever gotten a bad card. So, I am done. I will never buy from them again.

Brooks Brothers – sale of 4 shirts for $199 – ends up being 4 x $50 gift cards for $156, with $1 remaining on gift card.

Do you get 5 points per dollar spent on your ink card?

Dan – bought $1000 in charming charlie gc’s to resell. Both Card Kangaroo and Cardpool accepted sale and then came back and cancelled saying failed risk assessment. Is there anything I can do? Are there cardcash returns as apparently no one trusts their gc’s?
