Does OD ever do the online GC deals anymore? Even though they don’t code as office supply stores, it was still a nice $15 off of $300.
It’s not $15 off $300, it’s $2 off $300.
The activation fees are included
Can these really be used to purchase money order at Walmart? Have not had much success?
Same here. No luck at Walmart. The employees also give the stink eye. But can I only use one card per money order? In other words, can I use two $200 cards to buy a $398 money order?
Just spoke to someone in an Office Depot location and she said visa is not included
I just got the deal for 2 200$ Visa cards from office Max. I have not been successful in registering them online for online use. If you have any info please share. Ty!
What is the activation fee for a $600 GC?
Man too bad there’s not a single office max or office depot anywhere within driving distance. Everything is a Staples!
Where do you live?
Fairfield County, Connecticut
Can these be cashed out on Venmo or PayPal?
Can I buy online ?
The special is online too. Check the post from yesterday. But doesn’t earn x5. But better deal-$10 off for every $100 gift card up to 3.
I just rang up 3 $200 cards for $600. Only got $15 off. Not sure about the $30 off $600.
best to buy them in units of $400. They come out to $398.90. Also, my chase ink card as 5% off up to $11
No, it’s best to get them in multiples of 300, can do for instance multiple $200 cards that add up to multiple of 300 and can get the discount multiple times.
Hmmm, Dan do you know if the $30 off $600 is also valid this time? (Guessing no, because the post doesn’t reflect that anymore?)
Dan, does the $25 virtual prepaid visa card on office Depot give you 5 points per dollar with no activation fee with the cash ink?

They are reportedly saying it’s actually out of stock and the orders keep getting and will be cancelled
This item is not for sale it’s just for promotional purposes
Dan, I have an additional 10% back from my Chase offers! Stacks Nicely!
p.s. in a side note I also see on a few of my chase Cards 10% back at Walmart! (was it mentioned already?)
Does anyone know of a store where to buy money orders with the gift cards
Waiting on this too
Some Walmart stores with older card terminals (in the customer service area).
any of them in or near NY?
Sorry, I’m in the south 🙂
HI can anyone confirm if this deal is active, as it was active the entire last week and office max said it would end May 13th?
ok so last week was mastercard and this week is visa. sweet, has anyone ever had any issues with the visa cards
It’s active for Visa this week.
Could you use these cards to overpay your cell phone or cable accounts and then request a refund of the credit balance
This doesn’t appear to be a VISA or MasterCard question. Speak with your carrier and ask if the accept overpayments and process refunds. How many millions are you planning on overpaying? ♂️
I believe you can request but it will probably go back to original payment method…
Only if it’s processed with third-party processing system this is when you will get a check
If only they actually had stores anywhere.
My local office Depot store have a limit of $150 off
So 15 x $200 was the amount I could buy under that promotion
(There hard limit is $9,999.99 in gift cards per customer per day and max one transaction)
Is anyone having any luck with buying MO’s in Eastern NC or Tidewater, VA
No where to buy Money order now. Any suggestions? Food Lion and Walmart no longer accept the Gift Cards .
There is an Amex offer still available for Office Depot.
@dan is this advertised somewhere so i can try to get online as there are no stores within 50 miles from me
Was a bit nervous how this would add up with the increased fees on the cards but I rang up today $10 off for every $200 card, for a total of $1,187.70 for $1,200 worth of gift cards. Sweet deal.
What’s your time worth?
Sounds like you don’t live near an Office Depot. But I value the return at $67 at least.
Dan-Where is this deal advertised or was this seen live in person on the GC rack?
Just tested it myself at my local store. No advertisement, but worked like a charm on a dozen cards.
Thank you! Is the final cost $300 plus activation fee minus $15?
3 $200 cards was $600+$20.85 in fees-$30 discount=$590.85.
It seems that there are no stores in NY/NJ whatsoever.
Right! Move to Florida!
Yes‼️ And Costco does accept the gift cards at checkout. Only waitstaff in restaurants with the handheld readers have an unnecessary issue.
How this work out .
I need to write my information on my name or this a blank card can uesd online ect.
Is there a question here?
I seem to be unable to connect your pronouns with your verbs and your verbs with your nouns, etc.
Buying gift cards with an amex counts towards spending for qualifying for the card opening bonus? and do you get bonus points for buying gift cards?
The attraction here is that the purchase price of the gift cards is, with the Visa fee, less than the face value when purchased in $600 multiples. Additionally, the Chase Ink Business Cash card pays 5% on all purchases from office supply stores. The takeaway is that the Visa gift cards are purchased for about 94 cents on the dollar.
and what about the question?
Read your Amex Terms and Conditions that accompany the offering.
Is there a limit how many I can buy ?
As many as they will sell you. I buy $3,000 face value at each offering.
Are the fees waived?
No. But 3 cards x $200 will net less than $600.
I can only find $100 gift cards
Open the card display and pull out the overstock. Or ask a talented associate or branch manager for assistance.
This week (6/2-6/8) its not with VISA cards. I just purchased and they are with MASTER cards
These are never in stock at either of the Office Depot’s near me. Why bother to advertise it if they are not in stock?
The person I spoke to yesterday said that they are stocked by a vendor once a month. That’s pretty ridiculous for something being promoted to get you into the store.
A couple of my Chase CCs have 5% back chase offers for OD. Could make this even more slick.
