You can save 10% automatically on up to $500 in Target gift cards online or in-store. That’s up from a $300 limit in past years.
You’ll need to login to a free Target Circle account in order to get the discount.
Limit one discounted transaction per Target Circle account, but you can buy multiple smaller denomination gift cards in one transaction. Valid on eGift Cards or mailed physical gift cards with free shipping.
Offer expires 12/6.
Use PayPal checkout and earn 5 points per dollar with your Chase Freedom Flex Card. Or earn 8 points per dollar for using a Marriott Brilliant or Marriott Bonvoy card.
Gift cards never expire. You don’t save 5% when buying Target gift cards with REDcard.
The discount does not apply to Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, or other retailer gift cards.
You can stack this with 10% off one in-store or online Target order through 12/12 for an effective 19% off at Target!
You won’t get another 10% off gift cards, but you will be able to redeem the gift card and save another 10% off 1 order.
For example this Echelon EX3 Connect Bike sells for $999.99 everywhere online and will be $899.99 at checkout with this coupon. Use gift cards purchased from 2 accounts at 10% off and your out of pocked cost will be just $809.99! Post what other deals you find!

why only freedom flex and not reg chase freedom?
It will work for that too, but that card has been discontinued.
Will it work for freedom unlimited?
No
Will it stack with the red card 5%
Read the post?
I’m asking about the purchase example. Is it possible to use the gift card and and get the red card discount
You won’t get a discount for the portion paid with a gift card, but you would for any portion paid with RC.
One thing I’ve noticed about the REDcard’s 5% discount is that using a target gift card doesn’t seem to reduce your discount when there is / to the extent of another discount that already applies to your order. I’ve seen “spend $X, get a $Y gift card” have the same REDcard discount applied both before and after applying up to (and sometimes slightly more than, though I haven’t been able to tell when/why) $Y worth of gift cards. I think I’ve also seen “spend $X, get $Y off” have the REDcard discount also stay the same when applying $Y of gift cards.
So if you want to combine this with REDcard’s 5%, buy these gift cards in small individual amounts and use them selectively when they don’t reduce your REDcard discount.
But also remember that 10%>5% (and for those getting 5% back this quarter on the $90 they spend for each $100 of these gift cards, that 14.5%>10%>5%, and for those who value their chase and/or discover rewards at more than 1 cent, that X%>14.5%>etc.). To state the obvious, to succeed at maximizing this 10% while not giving up any of REDcard’s 5%, you’d have to do a LOT of spending at target. Those discounts are usually for 20% of the required purchase, with 30% only occasionally happening. And when the discount is in the form of new gift cards, …
Discover also has 5% cashback on Target.com this quarter
Thanks!
Got it with discover cc
the 10% off any order is not applying to gift cards
I never said it would.
As the post says, you can stack with 10% off sitewide when you redeem the gift card.
I agree with Shosh. I read the title and it makes one think you will get the discount on the gift cards. The title is misleading.
Yup, thought the same
And what would you like the title to say?
Sometimes you just need to read the post…
I would just mention the 10% off gift cards, 10% off a purchase, and the ability to stack the deals. Sometimes less is more. The statement of 19% off a single order is confusing and I would remove that from the title. Your readers will figure that out after reading the article.
That would be omitting half the deal.
Did anyone get it to work?
Get what to work?
I look to me that the 2 promotions do not stack
You cant stack the 2 promos for 10%
Need to buy one and then do the other.
Can target gc be used for phone cards ?
VGC?
I think people may be misunderstanding the sequence here: 1st buy the GCs at the 10% discount from Target, and then 2nd: use them to purchase an item which is discounted from your personal target circle 10% discount, which gets you to the effective 19%.
The post is NOT saying to buy the discounted GCs using your personal target circle 10% coupon.
The recently released and highly rated Sony WH-1000XM4 noise canceling headphones are on sale for $299, so another 19% off will make these an amazing deal for such a new product. IMO way better then Bose or Beats
The 10% off any item excludes “Sony Electronics”.
Ok but I just bought them and got $30 off anyway, so it seems to work
Hmmm … maybe I will try this with an Apple Watch?
So, the Sony headphones were $300, and they charged your gift cards $270? Wow, that’s $243 net … great price for those new headphones. I bought the Bose 700 ones a few months ago with my Dell Amex Business Platinum credit plus a 10% Dell Amex Offer.
What does it mean that these are “one time use gift cards”?
Don’t see PayPal option in the app
Target.com or Target android app
Thanks! Got a few gift cards for holiday gifts for some workers!
thanks!
Anyone knows how to remove shipping ban from target? they blocked me from purchasing online
Use a new email, a new name, and a new address. And possibly a new credit card as well.
Why is it 19% and not 20%?….
100×90%=$90
90×90%=$81
Can the emailed gift certificates be used in-store?
Yes. You can also save them to Target Circle and redeem via the app.
Only really save 5% over using the Red card (for those that have), but might still be worth it, just not as good of a deal…
And as a side question, curious if there’s any reason not to switch my Freedom card to the Freedom Flex (though I already have the Freedom Unlimited)…
Thanks!!
Freedom Visa earns 5% at Costco gas during gas quarters. Freedom Flex MC won’t work there.
Otherwise, switch away. Or apply for a new card and get the bonus.

Good point, forgot the Flex is a MasterCard, and I do get gas by Costco, wonder if I can get it in addition to the regular Freedom (still annoying that I got the 4th quarter PayPal bonus right away on one transaction I had to pay anyway, and can’t earn more), but if they let both, that’s probably the best option…
Thanks for the response and info!!
Yes, you can get approved for CFF even if you have CF. Sounds like that’s your best move.
Thanks Dan!!
Also should keep the Visa Freedom for when they have 5% off in wholesale (Costco) stores…
Only other thing I have to figure out is if it’s worth getting my wife a second card, since we only earn one “set” of the 5% bonus with an authorized user, curious what people do with that…
Thanks again Dan, applied and was approved for the Freedom Flex, going to keep them both around and will be able to double up on the quarters where I would have maxed out one card’s bonuses, though I only have a few weeks to spend the money to get the initial bonus and get this quarter’s 5, but going to start as soon as I get the card (or figure out how to get the card info)…
promos don’t stack for me either like others have noted

Combined the gift card offer with the “$25 off $100 toy purchase” (which can be reused for multiple purchases) to get two great bicycles for my kids at 28% off! Thanks so much!
Discover would have given 5% cash back. I bought a Nest 3 for ~128 incl taxes. Breakdown:
Nest 149+tax=157-10% gc makes it 142, target circle 10% off makes it 128. If you take 5% discover cash back into account, it makes it cheaper!
After deliberating how much I’d really use, ended up ordering $500 worth (for $450) for email delivery and got it a short while later, added it to my Target account and I’ll be set for baby supplies for the next year.
Interestingly, I tried using PayPal (don’t love giving my actual card info on sites where I don’t have to) and it kept going back to the checkout page without actually using PayPal for the payment method, didn’t have time to test and see if it was one of my ad blockers or just something with their site, but ended up just using my Freedom Unlimited directly and checked out at 11:59 (though it probably ended later because of those on the West Coast), just have to put in a large order this week to take advantage of the other deals, wish they also had the $30 GC back for $100 of diapers and wipes this week, but the 10% off should be worthwhile enough.
So I went to reorder some items for shipping and a whole bunch of non-perishable food items I have ordered previously are now only available for same day pickup or same day delivery with shipt for my zip code here in Missouri.
