It’s not much of a secret that I’m a huge UppaBaby fan.
We started off with a Bugaboo that we got free thanks to AMEX. After all, that’s what all the cool kids seemed to have.
Except it was hard to push, especially in the snow or on bad sidewalks. And it had a tiny, hard to reach basket.
Then we saw someone else with an UppaBaby Vista. It pushed like a dream and had a basket large enough for an entire grocery trip. We were sold.
Even though it’s not light, it’s a dream to travel with. When Rafi and Talia were in their infant carseats we would bring it through security with their infant carseat attached to it and then we would gate check the stroller and bring their carseat on the plane. It made getting through the airport and getting around our destination a breeze. Plus as the frame detaches from the seat or carseat it falls under the 20 pound weight limit that airlines like American occasionally enforce.
Now that both kids are in convertible carseats we just check the stroller under in an UppaBaby travel bag. It did get damaged once, but UppaBaby covers all airline damage if you own their airline bag.
To get around the airport we use 2 Costco Scenra lightweight convertible carseats and 2 GoGo Babyz Travelmates that fit into the overhead bins. Those carseats and travelmates were lifesavers when we were running around JFK like headless chickens earlier this month. I can’t even imagine how it would have worked if Rafi had to walk the 10 miles we covered in JFK and LGA during those 24 hours. And he wouldn’t have even gotten the little bit of sleep that he did without them.
At any rate, UppaBaby is awesome. And Nordstrom is awesome with their no time limit return policy. And there’s free shipping and free return shipping!
We have the 2015 Vista and we now use the RumbleSeat to make it a double stroller. 2 snack trays round out the package. When we bough an infant carseat the UppaBaby Mesa wasn’t released yet, so I can’t give my opinion on that. Instead we attached the highly rated Chicco Keyfit 30 to it via the UppaBaby Chicco adapter.
The Vista travel bag is also a good idea if you’re going to travel with it.
For quick trips in the car we also have a lightweight UppaBaby G-Luxe which is a great umbrella stroller.

@Daniel:
No free return shipping there.
No lifetime return policy there. In fact if you open the box their 14 day return policy goes down to 0 days.
Does it make more sense to buy from nordstrom or bed bath and beyond with a 20 percent discount?
does it need to be unused to return to nordstrom?
@uppafan:
“We don’t actually have a return policy for purchases made at Nordstrom stores or at Nordstrom.com. We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of satisfying the customer. We stand behind our goods and services and want customers to be satisfied with them. We’ll always do our best to take care of customers—our philosophy is to deal with them fairly and reasonably; we hope they will be fair and reasonable with us as well.”
Returns can be sent back to Nordstrom.com with a free label or brought into a store.
I just got my uppababy from Nordstrom in September for full price. Do you think they’d give me a price adjustment?
@Toto:
Call and ask?
they have the deal on every single store that sells baby stuff.
@chaya:
Again, the point is that Nordstrom has an incredible return policy, while most baby stores have very stingy return policies.
Dan,
Just curious have u ever pushed the cameleon, donkey, or buffolo? All of those are far superior to the uppa baby in numerous ways. You had the frog which was the basic version of bugaboo that got discontinued.
@Hena:
I have pushed them. I don’t find them superior at all. Nor do most online reviewers.
And I really wanted to like the Donkey double as someone offered me theirs for free. But there’s a reason you’ll see the Amazon reviews for it are poor.
@Dan: il take your free donkey I’m dying for you but it’s so expensive!!!
Interesting.im part of a ton of stroller groups and almost 95% of the tkme ppl choose bugaboo over uppa baby. I have the donkey and love it. I’ve pushed vistas and the frame feels like junk but too each their own. I’d grab that donkey frlm ur friend it’s a great stroller and j think I’ll quickly convert
