It appears the one care pack you picked ‘HP 3 yr w/Accidental Damage and Theft Protection for HP 15 17’ is not eligible for rebate from the list on rebate form. it should be the “HP 3 Year Pickup And Return with Risk Free for NB” instead.
Thanks Dan!
Now $499
A great deal, but I went with the pavilion plus 16 for the 400nit screen brightness
I bought one on Friday. I checked again now, it still shows as $529.99. A Yid – are you sure you saw it for $499.99? Screenshot? Will HP price-match itself?
I just called them they matched the price plus gave me $50 off so I paid $454
I tried via chat and call, neither works. how did you do it?
Which is the better of the 2 options between this and the Dell Inspiron 15?
now 519
Hi Dan,
I used City thank you points to get the 8% off and not only did I not get the 8% off, but they also charged me 68,045 pts through PayPal (since I didn’t see the thank you points option when using the CC straight.)
Anyone know if the MediaTek Wifi ($15 upgrade) is better than the Realtek? A reliable Wifi is important to me.
@Jay My understanding is that you don’t get 8% off for using Thank You points. What Dan posted about Citi offers, is that if you enroll your Citi card in the HP offer of 8% (you can enroll in it if you click on the link in the post when you are logged in (alternatively search “Merchant Offers” on the website), search for HP and click to enroll in it. Then when you use that card to make the purchase at HP.com you should get a statement credit in a few weeks.
If you have more than one Citi card, make sure that the card you enroll and the card you use are the same.
(Note that this offer specifically says “online”, so if you plan on changing your payment method, rather than doing it over the phone which might not trigger the statement credit, I would cancel the previous order and place a new one online).
Note that this is the first time I am using Citi Merchant Offers and I am posting my understanding of how this works, not from experience, so I can only hope it works. I have also not read all the fine print in the offer to see if there is any restrictions or limits.
Thanks, I won’t cancel, because I won’t be able to get that price. But my bigger concern is, why was I charged 68K points (through PayPal) when the price was $544?
They redeem as cash, which come through at .8¢ per point. Cancel it and reorder now while it’s still cheap.
It’s back at $499, so I did reorder. Thanks
It charges as a cash redemption, which gives a value of .8¢ per point. I would cancel it and reorder correctly. You are losing out on at least $180 of value the way you did it. (.2¢ per point + 8% off.)
Understood. Thank you
risk free warranty isn’t on the 96$ one. Make sure it says “Risk Free” on the warranty you’re purchasing.
FYI It isn’t so easy to get your money back on the extended drops & spills warranty
On amex offers it states you need to use the link HP.com/amex, is this correct?
No, you do not need to do that.
