B&N just cancelled my order. I ordered only 1 of them and placed my order at around 1am (EST)
Why is everyone on the web going crazy over this deal if they’re discontinuing it? is it to re sell it? or to have a good tablet for $100 for however long it lasts for?

I bought the 16gb version from B&N earler today. Are there any good games for it (ex. angry birds).
I just bought the Viewsonic Tablet last week (cost about $250). Like it but the screen doesnt view well from the side (new about this going in). Should I return it as I will have the touchpad?
I just spoke to B&N after waiting on hold for an hour… they siad that the orders that were placed are guaranteed, but they are experiencing such high volume that they are double validating credit cards. and all orders placed should be fulfilled within 72 hours.

I also got the notice that my order wasn’t going to be fulfilled from B&N a little while ago, I could have ordered more from HP had I known that these orders would fall through. Thanks to B&N I’ll have to shell out more money for a reg priced one.
They should compensate us the difference for what a new one would cost because we probably all could have got one some where else if we knew B&N was just toying with us.

Just got a cancellation email. Ordered at 3am. They even sent me an email that my cc didn’t go through. I updated it and everything seemed fine. Why couldn’t they just tell me then?

I’m soo pissed off. This is irresponsibility on their part and now were all suffering. As the poster above said, had we known about these cancellations we wouldve bought it somewhere else. Maybe if we put together a group email stating what happened to all of us along with a screenshot of our order confirmations we received from B&N, we would have a good shot at getting some response and justice done. Â I have called 4 times today and keep getting disconnected due to high call volume. Â I think they messed up big time and are waiting for people to cool off before they talk to anyone. Â Anyone else think this a good idea and know someone familiar with doing something like this? I’m an attorney too, what sort of legal action can you pose on Barnes and Noble. It’s a simple failure of their servers at this point. Unless you can show they acted in bad faith good luck, and judge would laugh as they than you for your filing contribution before they dismiss it.

Lawyer@summons: I’m in, what do you need and where do I send it? We obviously aren’t gong to take this to court (will probably cost alot and would be too much for someone to take on without compensation and maybe the attorney who posted before is right ), a nice long detailed letter stating we were wronged and are willing to do something about it, Â may be enough to get something done though. If you look at B&N’s website they claim that they are rated #1 in customer service. It’s probably pretty hard to get to that position and they wouldn’t want us making a big stink. Â
  I had a friend who had a couch that was falling apart after they recently purchased it and was being ignored by sales staff and a manager at a nationwide furniture chain. His wife found a legal document template online and filled it out with their info (the letter threatened to sue for the amount of the couch if they didn’t respond within 2 wks) sent it via certified mail and within 2 wks they got a letter offering a credit for their couch after they returned it.Â

you all sound a little ridiculous.. ya it’s annoying that they got cancelled but that’s life. this is not situation where someone stole money from any of you.. a good deal came about with the whole country going crazy to get in on it and some got and some didn’t.
