if I return the headphones do I lose the gc
No answer to anon’s question??? Or is everyone afraid now of being acussed of stealing??? What has the place come to?

They will usually deduct the amount of the gift card from the order.
It’s people like anon that may one day drive me to track him/her down and execute him/her for their cheapness.
I purchased the yellow headphones (originally 199)and added gc. Amazon charged me 161 for headphones and $50 for gc. so really the deal takes $50 off headphones and makes you buy a $50 gc. I think one can cancel gc and just get 50 off — or maybe it reverts back to $199 original price. Remember, Amazon is not stupid.
I just spoke with Amazon and they said NOT to check the gift card and it will automatically be applied to your account after completing the order within 3-5 business days. Furthermore, they said that if you return the headphones within 30 days (not for the warantee-defective product) they will take back the gift card.
i purchase one and i received the 50.00 gift card right away
