The noise cancellation drowns out the drone of an airplane engine so well that when you take them off in middle of a flight you’ll be in shock that you were ever able to fly without them. They make for a peaceful flight and I sleep like a baby on the plane with them over my ears.

Do these also work as a headset on a phone call (bluetooth?)so you can speak and it picks up your voice? Sorry I’m fairly ignorant of the functionality with these headsets.
@CUBS FAN:
Yes.
These are the top scoring Consumer Reports pick for noise cancelling headphones – scoring an 87, although the Bose Quiet Control 30 (wireless ear-buds) scored the same.
I’ve been thinking of going in for a pair of over ear noise cancelling headphones… However, I travel VERY light and obtaining a pair of anything but simple cheap earbuds seems to be waiving the white flag on simplified travel… This good deal doesn’t make my decision any easier.
Although it scored high,it’s not the best as far as sound quality. The noise cancelling is terrific.If you want great sound try Sony mdr1000.(not mdr100).just my opinion
@GTR:
These have a much smaller footprint than past Bose headphones.
But them on an AMEX and you’ll have 90 days of return protection to figure out whether they fit into your travel lifestyle.
My guess is that once you try them you won’t go back though.
@Dan: Im getting charged 20 tax…that expected?
On my QC15, there is no sidetone so the noise-cancellation makes phone calls uncomfortable. Can you hear your own voice through the speakers when you speak on a call withthese?
@Anonymous:
Depends on your state, none for me.
@Iz:
I hear my voice on phone calls.
Is Rakuten decent with returns?
If I have a screenshot of the sale price, will anyone match it (even if dead)?
Once you go Bose you never go back
Bummer…..
