Received confirmation ready for pick up. 20 minutes later received items canceled. How are they supposed to know I got both emails? Maybe I got the first one and headed out? Will they do anything for me if I show up and make a big deal of it (I had no way of knowing it was canceled)? As far as the ethics goes, what business do they have sending me out to pick up only to cancel me midstream without compensating me for the inconvenience? This isn’t the first time they have done this to me…

All thos orders was canceled. I went to store to pickup after getting the email confirmation that its ready for pickup but they told me that it was a mistake and wont be honored.

Received confirmation that order is great for pickup but when arrived they told me the order was canceled!!!!!

I had the in-store option working until just now, then got some weird web errors, and on refresh, got this:
Promotion not applied: Required item(s) are not in the cart and/or minimum purchase amount has not been met.

Still, was able to place about 4 orders for 2 or 3 mice each (plus the blue books which will come in handy some day :)).

I bought from 3 different stores, picked up 2 immediately upon getting the ready to pickup email, but the 3rd store wouldn’t honor saying it was a mistake. Guess their website had a bunch of errors this morning. Some $1K laptops had rung up at $75 the manager said. The manager gave me two $10 off $10 coupons to compensate me for my troubles. If you haven’t picked up items from a store, they probably won’t honor It at this point.

Ordered 11 mice between 3 Brooklyn stores along with 8 Pacon Examination Books to be shipped. 2 of the 3 stores cancelled within 30 minutes. Received email from 3rd store almost 3 hours after ordering. I went down there and just picked the 3 orders (1 per order) without a problem. I guess I should expect the 8 Pacon Examination books sometime this week (I’m assuming only the store pickup portion of the orders were cancelled). No idea what I’ll do with all this stuff.

I ordered one to be picked up in the Howell store. It was quite an embarrassing experience. They automatically knew that i had come to claim the mouse i had ordered for free. When they couldn’t find mine I told them that it’s ok and I will just order another one for 5. The manager looked at me with this look and said “you won’t be able to get it anymore. They fixed the mistake”. They finally found mine and told me to take it. I had such a bad feeling about the apparent chilul Hashem that I brought it back later.

When I went to pick up in store yesterday at noon they told me that they cant honor it. The manager told me that he would never have known how much I paid for it if people hadnt come into the store and tried to get the online price. He said that people were taking any wireless mouse up to the register and seeing if it was free.

@Zala: Yes, I placed 3 different orders (none of the stores had 10 odd mice, just 2-3 each) and i got confirmation mail in an hr for pickup for all 3. All in manhattan west side, no issues picking them up, they were wrapped and just signed for them and left.

My order is still “processing” for yesterday. I guess I’ll never get it. It probably got held up since the total was negative 1 cent.

Seems like staples is playing a lot of games- I have a history with them and there are many cases where they bait you and leave you hanging. I placed orders at 4 stores. 2 orders at the first 2, 1 order at the third and 1 at the 4th. The first one never sent any followup email – when I called they said it was cancelled by online. The other two stores sent me the “come pick up your order” and when I got to the second store they told me it was cancelled. Luckily I didn’t waste my time driving to the third store and called – same thing. 4th store flat out sent me a “sorry out of stock cannot fulfill”. Chutzpah is sending the “come pick it up” wasting my time and money . Pissed at staples.., Dan or whomever – can anything be done ?
