Depends on the phone. They may reduce the trade in value. I have a Galaxy S8 and when i put in that my screen was cracked they reduced the trade-in-value by $50, but still giving me $150.

Comparing this with verizon prepaid, you lose $110 doing this deal.
Why
Unless you have at least 4 people on the unlimited Verizon regular plan (not prepaid), the plan cost much more and what you don’t pay for the phone will go on the plan.
Suppose you have a family plan of 3 people and each of you get 2-3GB of data each month.
For prepaid plan, the total monthly cost can be as low as $85. Taxes on prepaid is about $7 in NYC.
However, on the regular plan, you will be paying $130. Taxes on this in NYC is about a whopping 22% (about $28).
Now multiply the monthly difference by 24 (for the 2 years you have to stay with Verizon). So $65 x 24 = $1,560!
You then have paid over $1,000 more on your plan just so save $300 on your phone!
