On 01/01/09 Sprint is increasing the “Administrative fee” to $.99 per line. As this is not a tax increase it is considered a “materially adverse change of contract” which according to the fine print in your contract allows you to cancel service without paying an early termination fee!

I saw this get out of your sprint contract thing before, and how the laws in California don’t allow cancelation fees. BUt my company got stuck with a 4,500 dollar bill of just cancelation fees. i had to pay it or it would go to collections.
So…make sure this is right… Because I got screwed the last time.
@Sarah:
You bring up a good point, once you get a rep who will let you cancel for free (it may take multiple tries) be sure to get the rep’s name and ID number just in case you still get charged an ETF!
NOT IF U HAVE SERO! no leaving sprint, if i have 500 f&f, unl txt and unl internet, plus 200 bonus minutes a month (i dont even know what i did so hard to get it…) for $30 kein ayne hora!
@b.s.:
The free shipping isn’t combinable with the book.
dan, is there any plans better than the sero? i think its a great plan and i don’t think there’s a need to change.
Dan, think this would work to get “out of contract” status, but stay with the service?
I too have a SERO plan that is too good to give up, however I wouldn’t mind getting new-sign up prices on certain phones… (BB sells the Touch Pro for $299, however won’t sell it to me while in contract. Sprint wants $570 for this phone!)
Mordy if you can get “out of contract” but stay with the service, let me know. I’d like to do that.
Question…Let’s say I want to switch from Sprint to AT&T, do I just go to AT&T and sign up and then when Sprint charges me for breaking my contract I pull this card out? i just want to make sure when I switch I retain my number. I’ve heard stories that sprint will try to keep your number when you break with them using these loopholes.
Dan I have a family plan with sprint. I have 2 phones with unlimited nights and weekends plus 600 minutes during the day.
I pay 30.00 a month for it. Origanally it was 40 but they give a 10.00 discount every month because we complined about something. I dont even remember what it was but now its costing only 30.00 a month and thats in the system as a credit for every month untill I stop the plan.
My contract is only a year old and I still have one more year to go .
Do you know of any better plan that would make it worth getting out of this one??
hi here is a nother way to get out just go on roaming and they will ask you to go off if you dont they will kick you off so here is a way it make take a month but its a way to go
Sprint may require you to wait untill you get your bill to assure that the contract was breached. Then they will probably give you a 15-30 day window to cancel.
Hey Dan, please let us know when we can opt out of our Verizon Wireless plans!!! THANKS!!!
how do you go to roaming?
won’t they just cancel the .99 and force you to stay or pay $75 per line or whatever it is… ??
@Yossi:
They don’t have the ability to change the fee so you can insist that they let you out for free.
i love sprint specially when my plan is zero and including blackberry service….. so how bad can it be???
Does anyone know of a guy in Boro Park that can give you great sprint plans?
