International version, with no wifi calling on Tmobile.
@Mike B:
Use Google Hangouts for free WiFi calls worldwide on any carrier.
@Dan: Asides from WiFi calling T-mobile branded phones will have WiFi texting. I know there are free WiFi texting apps but none will receive a text sent to your cell phone carrier’s phone number. Also this phone won’t have access to T-mobile’s LTE service.
Dan I’m surprised you haven’t switched to T-Mobile yet considering you travel a lot. They have free texting and data overseas. While the speed overseas isn’t fast it was fast enough for me to make a Google Hangouts call using the cell network of the country I was in. Also they have free texting while on a plane that has GoGo Internet (the texting works over the WiFi connection).
@Dan’s the Man:
I have VZW unlimited 4G plan, gonna take more than that to switch.
Besides I spend about $50 on data roaming on a trip, I don’t travel abroad nearly enough to make a switch worthwhile.
@Dan:
I switched from the unlimited VXW plan. I was only using about 6 – 8 GB a month. Now on the T-Mobile plan 4 lines of 10GB each for $30 a month each. How much do you pay Dan? 🙂
Their network used to stink. Now it’s great. I actually get higher speeds in my local area than I did with VZW LTE.
I know I know you get more 5X points from your Ink card. 🙂
Did I screw up? I have att. Will this work for texting in the us? If not can I return it? Also, I bought it for 499. Can I get the reduced price? Thanks
@itamar yeger1:
Should work just fine.
The T-Mobile deal of 4 lines with 10GB each for $140 is the best deal out there right now. That includes, of course, some freed data when traveling and free texting and voice. Plus Gogo text in the air if you have a modern phone. Also, their solution for wifi calling, especially at home, is excellent. Last year they sent me a great router that has been very impressive and makes wifi voice calls at home sound great. At this point, I’ve switch my wife and kids to T-Mobile, and I carry an AT&T phone and a T-Mobile phone (and a work blackberry) for comparison. Basically, AT&T has better coverage in some places, but T-Mobile has better data speeds everywhere. It’s nice to have both because I can pretty much get good coverage everywhere, including congested airports (where AT&T is VERY slow and T-Mob is usually fast).
the only carrier i can use is tmobile and att with this phone
???????????
@Dan
Are you sure this will work with Tmobile’s LTE services? Just want to make sure before I buy.
@Joe:
Where did I say I was sure?
@Dan
It says “AT&T/Tmobile” just wanna make it can can use LTE and not only 3g
