here’s my question, can I use my iphone (unlocked form canada) with a prepaid chip and pay $2 a day for unlimited calling? (will an iphone work??)
Do they have data plans?
Lastly: what are the downsides of using this plan?? as opposed to regular at&t plans? (currently overseas a lot and I’m still paying $50 a month just to maintain my #)
thanks
Would these cell phones work with Cellcom Israel or do they have to be unlocked? Also can I just buy the phone or do I need to buy service with it?
@jewkugel:
Just get it unlocked and you will be good to go. Easy as pie.
if i want to use in israel what phone do i need? also if i want to use for emails wich phone? what about for web? what are costs of data plans in us with at&t?
also do any phones have wifi?
what’s the diff between At&t adds a $25 airtime card and by some phones it says includes $15 airtime
Anybody know which of the phones listed can be udes in Israel. Also, what is the best simcard plan for Israel.
Thanks
Are you saying I get $50 of airtime with the purchase of a Nokia 2330 for $8.99?
@chachem balaileh:
The $25 airtime added to your cart costs $25 and can be removed if you want.
The phones that say they include airtime come with it for free and is shipped with the phone. The free airtime won’t show up in your cart.
@AsherO:
No, the phones that I wrote include airtime come with $15-$50 of free airtime.
The new prices is not so good for everyone…
Ex. I have the old $3 a day when used unlimited voice, i use it mostly for a voicemail box and daily texting, (i have a text message package) once in a while for calls (yes i need unlimited for the days i’m using it for calls) untill now i was charged the daily $3 fee only on days used for voice calls, when texting it cost me only the text, voicemail is retrevied from another phone so its free.
On the new $2 plan u are being charged daily fee even on days u did not make any calls once u received even only 1 text message,
also the find print says u are also being charged daily fee when only calling ur voicemail, i don’t know if that means even when retrieving it from another phone or only from that phone
@Anonymous:
You do not get charged $2 on days you receive a text message. Only on days that you send a text message.
And presumably you only get charged $2 for checking your voicemail from your phone. I’ve never heard of getting charged for a voicemail call made from another phone.
can I purchase the nokia 2330 & use it for my regular plan? because my cell phone broke.
@bg:
All you need to do is put your SIM card into the new phone!
THNX ALOT!!!
The LG prime is coming up as $99.99 not $89.99.
@ menach I did my research after having the same query as yours. In order for a cell phone to work in Israel it needs to be these four things: 1) GSM works with a Sim card 2) unlocked 3)compatible with GPRS 1800 MHz 4) tri-band or quad-band. This said most cheap phones prob wont work. After looking up the phones listed in the article above it seems that the cheapest phone that would work is the Samsung Magnet as its quad-band and compatible with 1800 MHz. The ones prior to that are 1900 MHz and/or dual-band. I hope this article will help anybody with this question! Feel free to comment on this.. If you hear or see any good deals for phones that work in Israel let me know!
As far as good plans in Israel ….If your not planning on using your phone more than 150 minutes a month I would recommend Talk ‘N Save’s plan for $10 a month with a $50 rebate after 10 months when using your own phone. For more minutes you have the option of getting the kosher plans which a really cheap….to call other kosher phones. But to call non kosher phones its like 12 cents a minute . I personally have the ‘army plan’ which I think is the cheapest and most flexible plan out there. You pay 100 shekel first month and 20 thereafter for service. The first minute is 29 agurut thereafter its 19 and texts are 18 agurut. If your interested in this plan you can email me @ jewkugel@gmail.com and I will provide you with my contact’s number. Good luck!
Price drop on some of these phones, e.g. 2330, 2720 etc.
@dovid:
I too have been traveling a lot, lately I have been out of the country more than I have been here. I finally ported my number to 3Jam (3jam.com) and use the ATT Go $2/day plan when I am in the US.
3Jam forwards my calls to my foreign cell when I abroad and to my ATT cell when I am back. They also forward text messages.
Good luck.
@jewkugel I’ve used Dual-band phone from the US in Israel for Orange without any problems. My phone in Israel now is the Nokia 2680
I heard of an awesome long distance plan for israel …0.015 cents per minute and if the Israeli caller holds on as the US caller hangs up and calls back (a local number) then the call is free! For more details you can email me @ jewkugel@gmail.com
Firstly, is there a way to get more than 3 phones?
I ordered 3 last week and then I tried ordering more it automatically cancelled my order, I tried a few days later and it cancelled again. I tried again around a week later and it cancelled again.
Any ideas?
This price is too good to let go.
whats the dif. between tri band to quad band
I`m coming in for the kinus from out of the country and need a phone, i am thinking to get the Nokia 2680 (New)- $79.99 Now just $24.99, Includes $30 Airtime!
but i have 2 questions,
1. is it for sure going to come with that $30 airtime?
2. how long is that airtime valid for?
thank you
@shliach:
You can see which phones include free bonus airtime by looking at all the phones on AT&T’s Go Phone page and click on “buy a gophone”
I think the airtime should be good for 90 days, extendable if you buy another refill.
@Dan/Ctownbochur: thanks
@wax of the ear and it’s moldy: @Menach: did you see my reply?
@wax of the ear and it’s moldy: is it the ameracan version or Europe version? as stated in this website they make two of the nokia 2680 ..it would be very surprising if the american one works here as its not even 1800 mhz its 1900 and dual band…check it out http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_2680_slide-2337.php
The nokia 2330 refurb is in stock for $6.99

If my regular AT&T phone is broken, can I purchase a “pay as you go” phone and transfer my sim card into the pay as you go phone to use as a new phone, as opposed to paying over $200 for a new phone, through my plan?
@Steve:
Sure!
Dan is there a limit in how many i can get? I got email that i reached the limit of lines that i can get. And i only ordered 2 total so far
