Earlier this year a baby deer was born in my front yard. This picture was taken of it with a Galaxy S6:
When I got home from my office I took a picture of it with the telephoto lens on my Sony a6000:
I haven’t edited these pictures at all. You can tell the difference in quality that you can get from a phone’s camera versus a mirrorless camera.
Iāve been using the A6000 for several years and love it, it takes fantastic pictures very quickly. The quality of pictures in low-light situations and with zoom are far better than from even the most advanced smartphones. And I can easily transfer the pictures to my phone over WiFi or even use my phone as a remote with the phone displaying the camera screen. The electronic viewfinder also does wonders when itās sunny out.
Mirrorless digital cameras offer SLR type performance and sensor size in a compact and intuitive package. In fact it even does things better than an SLR, such as video. Itās bigger than the point and shoot you might be used to, but the pictures it takes are just incredible. In a pinch it can still fit into your pocket even with the 16-50 lens on, something that canāt be done with an SLR.

Same specs as A6000 above, but this package includes a wide angle and a telephoto lens. If you can swing it, I’d definitely recommend going with this option. I primarily use the wide-angle lens, but the telephoto lens comes in handy when I want shoot farther away subjects.

I made the leap to a mirrorless Sony a5000 2yrs ago when there was a great deal. However, I don’t find that it does a great job in low light. I always use the Superior Auto Mode and it makes indoor light look bright orange or darkens the picture. What am I doing wrong??
You can use it in manual for better control, but even in auto I don’t have that issue with the A6000.
I would highly recommend buying these for indoor flash use though, they are incredible!

On 2nd thought, it doesn’t look like those will work with the A5000, sorry š
Dan: why 5%? visa edge calculated B&H for $100 shows $4 rebate which is 4%??

What’s Chabads view on pictures? There are places where pictures aren’t looked up to
Does the Ink+ provide any kind of warranty beyond the basic manufacturers? Thinking about purchasing for my son who would be taking it on some somewhat rugged trips.
Whoever has already used some of the Visa Savings Edge credit on previous purchases (ever) should take into consideration that the max savings for the lifetime of the enrolled card is $150 (the cutoff is at $3,000 of spending).

AYLOR
@Amy:
It does provide extended warranty, though likely not as good as AMEX’s version.
@Work-for-ur-muny:
Just add an AU and register it š
What does “mirrorless” mean? I’m not much of a camera guy but my wife has been pining for a high end camera for a while now and one of these could make a great present for her.
@Anonymous:
Mirrorless = DSLR quality and interchangeable lenses in a more compact and lightweight package.
