Tracfone phones come locked but you’re now allowed to request an unlock code after it’s active on Tracfone for 60 days.

thanks. i just looked at your post on the forum. how does that work exactly with the phone service that comes with this phone? Will the 4 months overlap with the year service you receive with this phone. Or will the 4 months start after the 12 months service that came with the phone is over?
As soon as you activate you can join rewards and enter the code. In around 60 days, the points will go from pending to available. You can then use the points to buy any combination of service time or minute refills. It doesn’t matter if the 1-year service plan is still active, as they do allow overlapping.

They don’t seem to expire until your service is inactive for 60 days.
Either way, you can buy the next year as soon as the points become available if that’s what you planned on using them for anyhow. They’ll just add another full year to the service end date.

60 days is Tracfone’s official policy, there shouldn’t be an issue.

You officially have 14 days from activation, so if you just activated then maybe you can try one of the 8K codes again in October if none of them work now.

You can add service time and minutes anytime, it gets added to your current service end date/minutes balance.
It seems it’s 1200 minutes total and data or texts will use up minutes. Possibly 1 mb= 1 min and 3 text= 1 min, but not 100% sure.
This is 1200 mins AND 1200 texts. You can add mins, text and data anytime. These get added to your account immediately.

I have asked TF for the unlock code, but they wanted $30 because I am 60 days short of the 365 ACTIVE paid service, although that I had this phone for 2 years now
TAG has a reliable firmware. Unfortunately, many of the free optinons have neded up causing serious issues for people. I’d stick with TAG (it is $15 for a reliable block).

If this only comes with minutes and texts, does that mean data won’t work? I want to get this for my kids to take when they go somewhere but don’t want them to be able to access the internet. I live 300 miles away from the nearest tag office, so I’m not really sure how to go about using tag.

Today all phones have WiFi and I think that this deal includes 1200 MB or at least an option to use a MB in place of a minute.

The previous were KaiOS, except the Verizon one. This one is also Android, looks very similar to the Verizon one, and is giving a very decent impression.

You can transfer to “number barn” or port it out to Google Voice. Some other options to look at.

TAG can install a filter on the phone. Please note that the $15 is passed on to the filter company for the software (the filter company is independent from TAG), but TAG does not charge for the installation on this or any other device.
