you know they have a policy that if you have old equipment they will take it from you and give you some credit towards a buy

@Anonymous Good luck buying a visa gift card with a credit card at retail stores these days. Most have on the packaging themselves ‘cash purchase only’

@Sunny: If the return credits the AMEX card, AMEX will take back the $20 discount. BestBuy has nothing to do with the discount.

I went to my local Best Buy on Friday (9/7) and purchased a Best Buy Visa Prepaid Debit card for $195.00. A $5.95 fee was added to the purchase, which brought my total to $200.95 and was charged to my Amex Card. I came home and waiting for me in my in box was an email from American Express with the subject line of: You Synced. You Tweeted. You Saved. In the email was: Congratulations! By using your synced American Express® Card, you saved $20.00 on your purchase at Best Buy. Expect a statement credit in 3-5 days. While I paid a $5.95 fee for the debit card, I am still up $14.05, not bad ! I am also that much closer to earning a 10 K mileage bonus on my Delta Amex Card. I will use this Visa Debit card at the Supermarket, for Prescriptions, Movies & other purchases which do not require doubling the manufacturers warranty b/c there is no warranty on such items. Love it ! Free Money 🙂
