About Silvercar:
Silvercar is a new-age car rental company. Since I first wrote about Silvercar I’ve received lots of rave reviews from readers thanking me for introducing them to Silvercar. Share your experience in the comments!
I rented from them in Miami on a 2 day trip in August and though the weather wasn’t, the car rental was a real treat. I called them upon landing and they picked me up from the terminal so that I was able to avoid taking the train to them. After the rental they dropped me off in my rental car right back to the terminal. Plus the price couldn’t be beat!
The only car they rent is the fun to drive, all-wheel drive Audi A4. It comes with built-in GPS, satellite radio, bluetooth, leather seats, and even a free WiFi hotspot. Unlimited miles are included in every rental.
You can rent from Silvercar as long as you are at least 22 years old with no underage fees.
I rented a car from Avis in Miami earlier this year and got hit with a $17.20 bill for a two 70 cent tolls that I apparently passed on SR112. That’s $1.40 for the tolls and $15.80 for an “eToll Convenience Fee.” Convenient for whom is the question?
Silvercar only passes on the toll itself, no convenience fees!
If you don’t refill the fuel you’ll only be charged a $5 flat rate fee on top of the actual local price of the gas needed to fill up the car. No need to jeopardize missing your flight just to avoid paying $10/gallon for fuel.
Both AMEX and Chase cover the CDW insurance for a Audi A4, but it’s always a good idea to confirm and get things in writing before renting.
You only pay when you pickup the car, nothing is charged beforehand and there are no cancellation fees ever.

Great service! Just had my flight from FLL canceled due to fire. Had to switch to MIA. They waived the $50 drop-off fee.
looking to rent in FLL for 1 day and 2 hours. Will code work? I signed up using your referral link.
@I know I am:
Awesome!
@opinions:
You can just schedule it for a full 2 day rental and return early.
Or you can use the 15% off one day.
I just signed up for Silvercar without reading your discount link, can I call to ask them to honor it or am I to late?
@BarryD:
Just signup with a new email address?
Thanks for the $25 Dan. Signed up & reservation made!
@Dan: I called up Silvercar, once j setup my profile on their website, it asks for a referral code and I put the one in this post. Let’s see if it works.
Very good price for a premium car in LA – 45.88 for an audi is good but the added features really hit it out of the park – wifi is my fave additional feature – can get work done easily on the road – especially useful for visitors to the USA.
Dan, will that work – reserving for 2 days and returning early – will they still apply the coupon?
Do they give you an old Audi or are the cars nice and new?
@Jm:
Yes.
@Hf:
Brand spanking new.
Rented 2 days in Sept @ SFO. Super deal and service. You need the app to your phone to “sign” the rental docs. I forgot and it took longer to download and install the app than it did to pickup the Audi:-) The A4 was like new, all the bells and whistles including Sat Radio and the free hotspot.
I made a reservation for December using the $50 off code. Can I cancel that reservation and still be eligible to reserve with the 75 off first time rental code?
Thanks Dan!
I had a reservation for LA but wasnt gonna use it, so cancelled the reserv and made a new one in NY. Was able to use the promo for a free day.
Dan- I used the silvercar reservation for LAX but it came out to 149 total. It said the 75 dollars was already taken off. Am I doing something wrong?
Are any of these codes stackable or I need to decide if one day free or $75 off is a better deal for me? Also, any expiration on these codes?
Just signed up using your referral link. Will be renting in FLL. Thanks.
shows as 99/day in LAX on Dec 27th
is one way rentals an option in the future?
They only allow one code per reservation. Correct? If yes, what the point of the one day free code if $75 is better?
Do I need to use the DELEFF link first and then use the ELEVATE75 link or is it enough to use the referral link for first time users and that will give both discounts?
@Moe:
For places like NYC where one day is more than $79.
@Joseph:
You need to use both links for both discounts.
What’s about cheap rentals in nyc
Any way a 17 year old can rent without extra charges?
any age restrictions?
is there anyway to wave the underage fee is im 21
is it in terminal in miami airport?
@Dan: gotch ya. Thanks for response!
@Dan I would like to rent in Miami at end of dec..im putting in and its giving me a rate of 92 a day…yours is 56.71 for two days? what am i doing wrong?
When is the $23 deal in LA good until?
wen do these codes expire???
any good prices for NYC???
wen does this expire???
If I rent 5 days in Miami will that be expenaive
ouch, landing in San diago they dont have a location there
Just signed up with ur code for 25$ off but I don’t have PayPal will I still receive the discount? Also does paying with amex cover all insurance or just basic?
@Ml:
Signup for paypal now.
It covers CDW insurance just like with any other rental car company.
@Zac: Does your rental end in January. Promo only this month.
Anyone know if possible to combine any two codes together?
Thanks, Dan.
I put in the promo code FTU50 and it took 50 dollars off, but it said “$50 new time renters.”
Problem is I’m an existing renter, not a new one. Will this still work or will they charge me that $50 after the fact?
@Anonymous:
You can use the referral and 1 promo code.
@Anonymous:
It will work.
@Dan: Thanks for response. When you responded to Noah23, it quoted him as “anonymous”. Weird.
Is it in fll airport with all rest car rental companies? You say you called them to come get you?
In NYC, are they only located at the airport? if yes, which one? If I live in Crown Heights and I’m not traveling, can I still rent from them (if I would need a car for 2 days)? Do I need to go to them or do they do pickup as well?
I just reserved for 4 days in Ft Lauderdale with the $75 referral link. it came out to $246.00. What am I Doing wrong?
@Dina:
If you want to get the lowest rate then make a 2 day res for yourself and 2 day for your spouse. Though then you’ll have to exchange the car in middle of your trip.
@Dan: Ok. Can it be pickede up In Ft lauderdale and returned in MIA?
Just came back from a FLL rental, and the process was perfect. My only issue was the area where they’re located, is not the greatest, Would be better if they were on site like the majority of other rental companies. Putting that aside, I would definitely rent from them again. Thanks Dan for your $75 off rental code
@dina:
Call and ask.
@HZGTAX:
Did you call them to see if they could pick you up or drop off a car curbside?
Too bad they don’t have any Audi minivans 🙂
in FLL they’re only Open 5:00 AM to 11 PM
Just got two days in ft Lauderdale for 55!! Thanks Dan!
@jza:
If you call them they can stay open later.
@Mike L:
Enjoy!
i’m getting 22 in june is there any options for me
Since I just booked every weekend through Feb for FLL, (have companion pass as well :)being I don’t know which weekend(s) I will be going, what is the most efficient way to book with promos etc.? Or do I just have to pick one weekend now and worry about it later if I end up going different weekend?
Can i pick up in mia and drop off in fll?
When reserving what do enter for insurance info and policy number if renting with a chase sapphire card? Do I need any other insurance?
Note: locations close at the 11 PM. Doesn’t work for late night arrivals.
The links don’t seem to be working. Anyone else having the same issue?
is anyone else having trouble with this deal. its supposed to be good until tomorrow
Hi Dan,
Thanks for a great website. I have made several attempts tonight to sign up using your referral link but getting an error message “Oops your offer could not be found”. Please advise. Thanks.
@Michael:
Call the location and ask.
@Tony:
@chani:
@MW:
Should be working now.
If I already used the 75 dollar promo code can I use a new email address and get the 75 dollars of again?
If I make a reservation now, can I change the date as needed for free, and keep the discounts ?
By the way, we couldn’t match the Referral Code you gave us “ELEVATE75”.
You can try a different code after you verify your email address by going to your Profile page.
this error im getting
Landing at 1245 am, only giving me option for 5 am … Am I out of luck?
Do not use at DFW. You meet them at the rental center then you have to drive the silvercar employee back to their office, which is south of the airport. Not at all helpful, especially if your fianl destination is north of DFW. Returning is no easier. You need to pick up the employee and then back to the airport.
Waste of time and energy.
Apparently Dan is an exception. I used them in MIA and they specifically said they can NOT do pickup by terminal. Had to take a shuttle to get to the pickup spot. Just FYI. They said it’s against company policy to pick up from terminal.
its only for 22 and up
Any chance of having some Philadelphia locations soon?
My experience 2 days ago at Las Vegas Intl Airport:
Made reservations as per your post, tried calling them 2 times no reps available, finally spoke to someone they didn’t find my reservation. AND they’re closing 11(!?)
“Your Promocode is ready to redeem for a Visa Virtual Account. Once accessed, your account can be spent anywhere Visa Debit is accepted online or over the phone. In some locations, you will be able to select a Physical Visa Prepaid Card instead.”
Apparently they are not doing PayPal anymore?
