it shows each card is a $5 not 10?
@yehuda:
You pay $5, you get a $10 card!
my bad..i see what you mean
thanks! i got mine right away because i am signed up to follow your twitter account
Do you know if you have to pay for shipping or is that included? BTW nice SB spread.
Thanks got 2!
Hey Dan do you know if i can use a Gap gift card at Banana republic?
so we buy the card, and tomorrow (when groupon is available) we go to tanga website and exchange it for a store we like?
@elan:
I’ve updated the post.
@Yossi:
Yes, Gap gift cards work at Gap, Old Navy, Banana, Athleta, and Piperlime.
If the value of a Gap gift card falls below $5 (or below $10 in California) you can trade it for cash in a store.
@josh:
Exactly.
am i wrong or can you just cash out tango gift cards after 30 days for a check?
@bubbles: it seams so. however you have to pay 7% fee to cash out.
So I could spend $20, get $40 value, then cash it out (after 30 days) for $37.50. That’s $17.50 for free – not bad at all!
@moe:
where do you see that?
from the tango T&C
“Tango Cash Refunds: Refunds of unused Tango Card value are subject to the following: (i) the Tango Card must be registered on our website for 30 days, (ii) the entire remaining balance of the Tango Card must be redeemed, (iii) a refund check will be sent to the physical address associated with the registered account, (iv) no refund check will be sent to a P.O. Box, (v) the mailing address must be located within the United States (no APO or FPO addresses).”
@bubbles:
You can redeem it for cash right away but shipping of the check takes 30 days (don’t ask which mail carrier they are using), & they charge a 7 percent “administrative fee”.
no longer available š
@naomi:
Looks like it’s still available to me.
since it can be used on groupon, can I buy one and then go back on and get 2 more for free??? or can you not use them for 24 hours?
oops, nevermind – sorry!
@ray:
It takes 24 hours before you can use them.
How do I redeem my Tango Card for cash?
Tango Card is the only company in the industry that offers this ability. You are able to do this regardless of where you live and regardless of the value on your card. We will send you a check for the unused balance on the Tango Card. To redeem the card for cash, just follow these steps
Please register as a member on our site. It’s free to do.
Second, click on your Tango Card and select redeem for cash.
The “fine print”:
The Tango Card must have been purchased at least 30 days prior to a cash redemption request. We do this to protect against fraudulent use of this service. Unfortunately, fraud has become a major challenge for the industry and this is a requirement for us to protect against improper use of this service.
We will mail checks 30 days after a cash redemption request.
This feature may only be used once per card – i.e., you must redeem 100% of the remaining value of the card whether it is $3 or $100.
We deduct a nominal fee (7%) for the service, plus our postage costs.
Could i add lets say 10 of these giftcards to the one account and then cash out
or will this arouse suspicion and possible get them canceled due to the breach of the terms and condition’s…?
@ray: I thought about the same thing but you have to wait 24 hours, however this deal shows it has 8 days left so if they dont hit the number that they want to sell in the next 24 hours then maybe you could? Or do they wait 24 hours after the deal expires?
dan they write on their site that they also have an option to get a cash refund from your tango card do you know how it works
@Shlomo:
I think it will sell out very soon.
CAn you get 4 per account even though they are at the same home address?
is it us dollars or canadian dollars
Sold out
SOLD OUT!!!!
I got 7 for each account! That’s a total of $280!
And those are redeemable already!
Looks like their redeemable now! The admin fee comes to $1.14 per $10 card. I guess that’s 7 percent plus 44 cents for shipping. Unfortunetly, you can’t combine the individual cards into one $40 card and then cash that out, you have to cash out each of the $10 cards.
@Kay: i thought there was a limit of 4 per account
Dan,
I’m not a twitter guy. I think the whole thing is silly, but Not being a twitter member makes me miss out on a lot of lightning deals that you post. Besides checking the side, signing up on twitter, and the once a day email from Dansdeals, is there no other way to get an instant notice when a deal comes out?
@Jon:
It’s obviously not silly if it helps you catch the lightning deals!
@Dan:
I think Jon means to ask if you can offer the option of individual emails that are sent instantly instead of a daily digest. The alternative is for him to register for twitter and sign up for mobile alerts.
To be honest, I tried the Twitter mobile thing and recommended my whole extended family to sign up with you, but we found that it just inundated our mobile sms app with all sorts of repeat deals we didn’t need (i.e. from Jos. A. Bank, Endless.com). In the end they just blocked it.
With an email alert system, at least people could sign up for individual instant alert emails and could subscribe for different types of alerts like: travel, clothing, shoes, electronics.
Yes Dan I too would greatly appreciate individual emails with the deals as they come up if you are able to do that! I’m currently signed up for the email but I only get it around 4pm and I don’t like twitter either thanks!
Thanks for the great deal. On the Groupon coupon it says:
“The Fine Print – Limit 2 per person, may buy 2 additional as gifts. Online only. View full Tango Card …”
Does that mean that I can only use 2/4 cards on a single Tango account or can I use all 4 on a single account? Thanks.
the site is down since this morning , can not use any of the vouchers š
@Joe: You are able to use all 4 on one account
@Ch: working fine now
I tried to use the link http://www.tangocard.com/ and getting the same error all the time, although i used different browsers:
Firefox can’t find the server at http://www.tangocard.com.
