Anyone have experience with their quality? On a scale of Karako to Hugo Boss

Jack

I have no personal dealing but 3 freinds say is the best in the affordable custom market and side point Hugo boss makes tons of lines some are total trash

No issues with Shatnez?

Anonymous

Have them pay for the shatnez tailor 😉

mike

@Jack

Hugo Boss was a Nazi supporter too.

Tried & Tested

Once made a family trip out of this & me and my sons all got fitted by them in Manhattan, all of our suits that were manufactured in China were not worth bringing to a tailor to fix. Luckily the policy was still money back gaurantee. I guess they got smarter.

Skeptical

The model is wearing a suit that the vents can’t even stay shut and the sleeves are at least an inch above the wrist…

Anyone know where the suits are made?

Anonymous

@Shoita: As Jack wrote, they are supposably from the best in basic budget custom suits. If your high end is Hugo Boss, it’s hard to believe you will be disappointed. There’s are hardly any lines of Hugo Boss that can be considered high end…

Are these fused or half/full canvases?

Tt

Personal experience. Stay away. The fitters don’t measure right. And the suit fit so bad. So they said we have to remake it. Then I came back after another month. And they had to remake it again. After I walked out they emailed me that they don’t have the material for the inside I chose. I called Amex (the make you prepay) they took care of it, refunded the full amount. never looked at them again. This was soho location.

Does anyone know the deal with shatnez? That can add a significant amount to the final price if you need to change pieces.

Maven

They’re fused. Non functioning buttonholes. Messy detailing. But at that price you can’t complain. They’re a struggling company and saidntonbe facing closure.

Anonymous

@Tt: I thought amex dosnt protect against customized items??? which card and which protection feature covered it? Did they give you a hard time at all or even ask you about this?

Tt

@Anonymous: Starwood.

sf

Both suits I’ve gotten from them (3-4 years ago) had shaatnez– the collar had like a silk lining. It’s possible to fix, but added about $20 of tailoring, plus the price of the shaatnez checking.

sf – plus the price of the shatnez checking. —- thats where ever you go. so thats irrelevant
about $20 of tailoring thats relevant

meir

are they better then my suites in manhatten which starts at 500 a suit

dave

i just bought a suit and a pair of pants. quinn in phili took care of me and was pretty good. there were someother people there that didnt look like they had any idea how to measure but I could be wrong about that. its not 100% custom but good enough for me. only 2 color button options, and you cant choose the amount of buttons on sleeve and a few other things. but so far im pretty happy and they are nice about alterations with you own tailor… i only have for a few weeks thou. i will prob go back and buy more cuz the price is great!

would love to hear some other recent feedback from other people.
