Use the following code for 40% off of the original plan price ($40 max savings): SRT4R738
AMEX warranties only cover defective electronics, whereas SquareTrade will cover all physical damage as well.
Plus an AMEX warranty will only cover the price you pay for a phone, so if your phone is $649 without a contract and you paid $199 for it on AMEX, it will only be covered for up to $199, whereas SquareTrade will just replace it.
You can use SquareTrade for items bought online, in-store, on eBay, etc.

I have an old Samsung GS3 and it is barely hanging on. If I get the protection plan and the phone craps out, any chance they will replace it with a new phone? (not GS3)
I work for B&H Photo, we sell square trades for almost every item on the shelves… Squaretrades are awesome, no hustle with the company, if you damage your product even if it’s your fault, no problem they will fix it and if the item cannot be fixed they will give you the money back for the product. Works anywhere in the world and they speak multiple languages. No shipping to US necessary. Does not cover theft. I used it many occasions myself and never had a problem. Also great reviews online.
If you have any questions please ask. Cheers all
Excellent warranty! Have on son’s samsung galaxy 4 phone. Used once already. $25 copay to replace phone no questions asked. Had phone the very next day!
@hdawg: you get the money back from the product if it cannot be fixed, but Squaretrades can only be used in a device if the plan is purchased up to 30 days from the device. So if you own your phone for over 30 days the plan won’t apply
@Anonymous: You can also get it for a phone if you currently have insurance with the carrier and want to switch.
@hdawg: You can only sign up for a warranty within a certain time period of buying the phone. Given your description, its sounds like your too late.
I highly recommend Squaretrade. I have made more then one claim with them and they are always a pleasure to deal with.
I made one claim on behalf of an acquaintance that did not speak English. His computer was turning on but his screen wasnt working. I called them and they sent him a prepaid shipping pack and label. Once they received it they sent him a check for the full value.
I also made a claim for myself. My screen on my S3 cracked and the phone was acting up. When i made the claim I was given two choices, either they will overnight me a fully refurbished phone along with a mailer and label to send back the old one or send it to them for repair (or they allow you to take it to a local authorized repair center) and if its not fixable they give you a check for the phone. I chose to send it to them for repair. They repaired the screen and replaced the memory card reader in the phone. When it came back, I felt it was still acting up, so I sent it back. It turned out the battery was defective and the replaced it with a brand new one.
Most of the phones an laptops in my household are protected with a Squaretrade warranty. Their plans are not that expensive and the deductibles are reasonable. And they are definitely better then getting the !@#$% plans that the service providers offer.
Note: The first time I sent my phone in, it was without the battery. The 2nd time I sent the battery too. When I had to send back my phone the second time, it was a little difficult. The reps did not know what to do. They kept saying they would call me back. I literally had to call on 4 separate occasions. But, I still highly recommend them.
@hdawg:
