Amazon recently offered a great price for 12 bottles of Purell…except they only shipped out a single bottle.
You can call Amazon at 888-280-4331 or chat with Amazon to get a refund.
Here is what some DD commenters received when they contacted Amazon:
–Richard chatted with Amazon and was told to keep the single bottle and that Amazon would send another 12 bottles.
–Levi and Leon got to keep the bottle and received a full refund.
–Girth got to keep the bottle, received a full refund, and received a free month extension of Amazon Prime. (Incidentally you can always request a a free month extension of Amazon Prime whenever Amazon is late with a delivery).

Recently they had the same with diapers, A listing of 12 Packs for the price of 1, and i received 1, And they let me keep it and refunded me for that.
i didnt get my package yet. it shipped ups ground from CA to NY…

@Point lover why is it a scam of course you’ll end up paying, but each month is worth about $9 (after tax)so if u have a couple of extensions a year that’s a lot of $$$…
i got 12 bottles and received refund for the whole order.
I had the same issue with a shampoo that was titled pack of 6 and I kept getting a single bottle every time they did a replacement order. In the end I got a refund and kept 1 bottle.
I just received mine, box contained 1 bottle.
Just checked the tracking number and says the box weight is 1 lb. obviously only shipping 1 bottle. Should I call Amazon now or wait to recieve shipment. What should I say when I call?
The Amazon rep was very rude and abusive and then offered me a choice of either a United or American airline voucher
i don’t bother calling or chatting. i just send an email. i usually get a response within an hour. Almost invariably offering full refund or courtesy credit. they ask if you’re happy with response. If they didn’t offer credit or refund, just say no, you get another rep who’ll give you the refund or credit.
I was offered full refund, and after complaining that they should offer more I was offered an extended month of prime
@GH – I wouldn’t be happy to settle for keeping 1 bottle & getting full refund. That’s basically them telling you they’re not honoring the deal.

I’m wondering what people are telling amazon when they call to complain. If Amazon rep asks you what you expected to get do you really say I thought I was getting 12 bottles of a product which retails at $5 a piece for $12.24?
This was clearly a computer pricing error and if they honor it then great. But I can’t see calling them and saying that there was an expectation that the product was coming for a savings of 80%.

Why would they pay over double retail and assume that was right?

My issue is that the whole offer by Amazon was a computer error and made no sense.
You are right that in no way did people think that they were getting one bottle for 12.24, but I also dont see how someone can argue to Amazon that he really thought that they were entitled to a 12 pack for 80% off the retail price when it was a mistake by the seller.
I have never researched the issue beyond BB, but it seems to me that halachic price fraud runs both ways and that when the seller claims he did not realize that the sale had a greater deviation than 1/6 it is voidable by the seller as well.

the same thing happened to me with the OxiClean deal. Just got one bottle. Unfortunately didn’t think to call and just hit the return button on the order and it gave me a refund+keep the bottle:(
@Dan – a true “voided” resolutions result in a do over where everyone gets back what they put in and the buyer does not keep the product. However, I agree with you that for Amazon and the buyer it would be the best possible result.
@Joe – although the danger of chillul prevents a full discussion of your thought, suffice it to say that the doctrine of mistake (mutual or unilateral) under American law would apply to the transaction through the aegis of dina d’malchusa dina.

I called and rceived full refund plus $30 crrdit plus 1 month extended prime.
Do you people realize that it is not amazon that you are cheating and bragging about. It is probably a small business struggling to survive that Amazon charges back to recoup anything they “give” you. My wife operates a small business and uses Amazon. They are consumer friendly and ding the business if anything happens and their answer is ” if you don’t like it, don’t sell on Amazon “. How would you like it if your business were hit with these unreasonable charges you’re bragging about due to a computer glitch? I’d bet you’d hate it. Especially those of you that claim to be religious, think about it. It is stealing at its finest.

I got my package of Cups today, and lo and behold it was only a pack of 100 cups inside. I called Amazon and since I paid with a gift card balance, they told me they would just add $100 to my gift card balance.
Placed an order for two 12 packs. Received 2 bottles. Called and Amazon told me to keep the two bottles, refunded the full amount, and marked my account with the supposed capability of placing the Iredell again in 7-10 days for the $12 price. We’ll see what happens.
Amazon sent me 1 bottle and will reimburse me for the whole order= 1 free Purell bottle. I will also get to purchase the same 12 bottles for $12.24 if Amazon sells it again and even if it’s priced at $100.
I just chatted with Amazon, they offered me just a refund, I asked for them to please send the entire order. They stated that the product is out of stock, so I found the same item under subscribe and save, and was able to order after which they refunded my payment, so 13 bottles for free as they also refunded my original purchase.
I only got one bottle and they are refunding me.
