We bought two of these for $120.91 each from Amazon in 2013 when we renovated our kitchen. We had to gut the kitchen this year due to water damage from broken pipe but were able to re-use all the appliances and countertops and cabinets. When the plumber went to re-install one of the two Waste-Kings, he couldn’t find a gasket that must have been lost during the gutting. He couldn’t find a replacement part for it, so to speed things up, he installed a new disposal, an In-Sink-Erator, that he says is the most common one “everyone” is installing these days.
Short story: we love the Waste-King but dislike the new In-Sink-Erator. The water pools and doesn’t flow as quickly down the drain. It might be a simple design flaw in the rubber flaps that sit at bottom of the sink, but it’s disappointing. Buy this Waste-King. It’s a great deal. (Not sure why I felt so compelled to provide this review here but hope it helps some of you. Good Shabbos!)
@zow: Thanks! Very helpful!!!
I prefer a “batch feed” for safety reasons, (you can’t run a batch feed with the cover off)
