if my subscription expires in Feb 2016 does it make sense to buy one now as a gift and use the code I get by email for myself once it expires or if i have a prime that I share I won’t be able to share once I renew?

Just cancel your current Prime membership. Chat with a customer service rep, and make sure they refund you a prorated amount depending on when it expires. Then sign up for a $67 membership a second later. Worked for me!
Not working for me. Its showing $99. Anyone else having trouble getting it?
@shaina: I tried that and they wouldn’t give me a prorated refund because Iv’e been subscribed since May. I guess I’ll keep trying.

Dan, the good news is that you can pay with amazon gift cards (normally you can not)!!!
