You can link your Citi ThankYou card to your Amazon account by clicking here.
Once you do that just add anything $10 or more that is shipped and sold from Amazon to your cart. This won’t work for Amazon gift card purchases but it will work for gift cards that are good for other places like Nordstrom, Southwest, Whole Foods, and Starbucks
At checkout select the Citi ThankYou card that you linked, click on “choose a different amount,” and enter 0.01 as the payment amount. That should deduct 1 point from your ThankYou balance.
On the next page enter the following promo code for $10 off $10 (Exp: 11/23): SWP10TYP
Personally I don’t currently have any Citi ThankYou cards so I couldn’t try this myself, but several DDF’ers are reporting success. Post a comment to share your experience!
Similar to the recent AMEX promotion, if this doesn’t work you can just chat with Amazon and they will likely manually apply the promotion to your order.

I was able to apply it for a AMC Theaters gift card.
I tried to use it twice but no luck.
Is this safe to do? I hate to let amazon or anyone else have a link to my reward points…even if its just for 1 point….still ..they are tied to your account…It just doesn’t smell right….

Didn’t work, but a very helpful Amazon Chat rep said he would send request to Promo Dept and if nothing happens there, he would personally follow up with $10 credit to my account charged in 2-3 bus days. So need to be persistent and invest 10-15 minutes of time to get positive results. Worth it? Not sure.
After trying numerous times to apply the code I spoke with Amazon customer service, they said this is listed by Amazon as a “restricted code” and will not work nor will it be honored for credit. Lucky ones got it early enough…..

I just got it by chatting with amazon (its 5:00 pm). The rep had me place my order and then he credited me.

I just linked my citi forward card and tried to buy a Panera gift card. It would not take the promo code. I spent several minutes chatting with an amazon representative and he categorically told me “promotion cannot be used for gift card purchase.”

I just tried (nov 17 1:30 pm) and it didn’t work for me. I called amazon customer service and they were nice enough to refund me 10 dollars after a few minutes on the phone!
