If you maximize the $15, you’re effectively getting 2.1 cents per point, which is still a good deal.
It’s actually 2.8 cents per point because you get $5 off for using the 714 points in addition to the $15 promotion savings. In total, it’s $20 off for 714 pts.

This is new. I always was able to purchase an Amazon eGift card, apply it to my account & then purchase Staples GC with 0.01 Amex point & the rest with my account balance.
Now when I try to use my account balance for a staples GC, I get this message:
Your gift card balance can’t be applied to orders that contain certain items per Amazon Gift Card Terms and Conditions.
Any ideas?

Out of 3 accounts in my household, all received the 714 point/15% off yawn promotion.

I figured out a way to only get targeted for the 40% off.
1. Unenroll all amex cards
2. First, click on the promotion link it will say “activate”, then something like “you don’t a have qualifying card…”.
3. After you clicked on “activate” and you got the error…, then link the cards to Amazon.
I have multiple accounts, the only accounts that got targeted for the lesser offer of 15% promotion, are the accounts that I first linked the card and then clicked on the promo. I got the 40% promo on all accounts which I clicked on the “activate promotion” first.

Deal seems to still be alive. I was able to get multiple discounts today, Amex 40% and US Bank 50%. I went through my accounts and all of them had the US Bank discount. (I had to add my card to the accounts and this is the first day we were targeted.)
