Can’t use any of these water boilers on Shabbat
Looking for a Shabbos water urn. How are these?
I don’t like the ones that don’t get very very boiling enough.
We had the Chef Chefman one that get decently hot but the manual pump started failing pretty fast…

These are great hot water urns but beware, not good for Shabbat use.
why not?
The Chefman pump failure is usually due to lack of suction caused by the seal ring wearing out. They generally provide a second ring seal in the box. If not, you can probably contact them for a new one.
Many of the Shabbos friendly brands have started to sell the entire cover assembly instead of just the gasket.
These will run you $20+ instead of just a few bucks for the gasket.
Another issue that often degraded the pump pot is scale buildup. This can be combatted by boiling a bit (give or take a tablespoon) of citric acid (sour salt) in the pump put to dissolve the scale.
Are there any Shabbat issues, that we know of, with the water boilers??
Yes.
The water is electronically pumped.
These cannot be used for Shabbos.
Thankfully there are many Shabbos friendly pump pots and urns available on the market.
You can find these at Jewish electronic stores like the buzz or Dudi’s in Brooklyn and DB and center of town in lakewood.
I am sure there are many other places but that should be enough to start your search.
I have this one. Is it OK for shabbos use?

There no issues with almost any urn on Shabbos, barring some fancy new technology or something. Back before they started marketing “Shabbos urns” we used plain regular urns.
At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it.
You may want to consider the price though.
What’s so special about this brand that they are very expensive?
Extremely well made Japanese appliances. I personally have one of their rice cookers and love it. Incredibly moist rice. Some models you can even make it before shabbos and it keeps it warm and fresh for shabbos day, amazing for Poke Bowls. But aylor.
Urn deal seems dead. For the two electric skillets – if we bought an additional set of inserts, could we use this device for milchigs and fleishigs?
