Garmin Nuvi 265WT Linky (4.3″ LCD)
The Nuvi 265WT comes with a receiver that includes free traffic information for the lifetime of the device!
With the new screen interface you can easily see how far you are from your next turn and the road’s speed limit.
Bluetooth is included on the device for hands-free calling, and the 265WT has the critical text-to-speech feature, so it will say “turn right on Main Street,” instead of just “turn right.”
The 265WT also has Garmin Hotfix for a quicker Satellite lock with predictive technologies.

This may not include the free traffic
look in the specs:
“NOTE: Model number on the box is 265WT because the traffic receiver is included; however, the model number on the device itself is 265W as the “T” in 265WT refers to the additional component”
@ben:
You’re misreading that poorly worded amazon statement.
True the model itself is a 265W, what makes it a 265WT is that it comes with a car charger with integrated lifetime traffic built into it. When you plug in the car charger you are able to access the traffic service. You are not able to get traffic updates when it is not plugged in.
Read the confusing amazon statement like this: “Note: The model number written on the box is 265WT because included in the box is a car charger with integrated lifetime traffic.
However, don’t be alarmed by the 265W number on the model as the T simply refers to the included car charger/traffic receiver.”
Kind’ve like reading gemara…
hey dan, do you think this deal is worth it to get this fancy one over the cheaper ones? and do you know which gps company sends you on the best routes? some companies can realy drive you crazy!
@ moe
I am wondering the very same thing. i just bought a junky garmin nuvi for a little over 100$ but its really a peice of garbage and im gonna return it
@moe:
@me too:
The really junky GPS’s (including bottom of the line Nuvi’s) are worthless. I would never consider a GPS without text-to-speech for example.
Hey Dan, Please; can you give a summary as to which Nuvi GPS you Rrecommend. Thank You
Hey Dan!
Thanks for you input, im just wondering what model GPS you reccomend. I would prefer to spend 150 bucks, but if for 200 bucks i can get a much better one then i’ll spend more $.
Thanks
p.s. i just bought the garmin 205 from wal mart and its really “shvach”
i had the 760 from costco, for $250 and then i “upgraded” to the 765T for $280, because it adds lane assist and free lifetime traffic.
FYI – costco’s return policy on GPS’s is lifetime! here is the costco return policy.
“We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. The following must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, iPOD / MP3 players and cellular phones.”
You need to remember that the GPS will get you to your destination, but it may not be the way a local resident would send you. I have a NUVI 855 (which I got through a Dan’s Deals bargain a few months ago) and it works just fine as long as I remember the aforementioned caveat.
@me too:
The 205 is garbage, you’d be much happier with something like the 265wt. $194 is a good price for a GPS like this.
I have the 265wt, and what really bothers
Me, it doesn’t have a “most use of highway” option
When I was in new york/new jerset recently it was quite difficult always send me on local routes
@nuvi user:
It has a fastest routing and a shortest distance setting, I’m not aware of any other settings that would help you out in that situation.
Dont you think I should buy it at costco for $199.99 being that I get the costco return policy?
