Hi I’m the seller I’m a chasisish guy living in Boro park trying out amazon. I dont know how jj got the code I made it for this morning and gave it to 5 people personally that they should order it and leave a review not that i should sell my whole shipment in 10 min for free and loose $40,000 in less then 10 min I got over 1200 orders in 10 min, please please I’m begging you cancel your order.

The poster wrote that people should buy it (for free) and be sure to leave a review, which was included in the post. We figured that the poster was actually the seller and wanted it publicized…

I cancelled it much to my chagrin. I built up a lot of excitement. I guess I felt it was more important to cancel because mistakes happen. It would be really nice though if a different coupon could be emailed to those who cancelled to get a discount on the item.

How do you cancel? The most it lets me do is sent a message to the seller to cancel the order….

I didn’t order one, but why did this case warrant a public accouncement to cancel orders, yet the LED light mistake (where the seller emailed everyone asking them to cancel their order) didn’t warrant such an announcement?

So when it’s a frum guy, we’re all so happy to cancel, but if we ruin someone else’s business, no one gives a damn?

This guy should have thought twice about trading free merchandise in exchange for 5 star rating.

I just want to say to everyone here that as an amazon seller i also import my own products from china and usually ask a small group of people to review it in exchange for a free item. Amazon allows this and this is how people get a new thing started. eventually if the item is really bad the reviews become negative anyway so people can always make an informed decision. I did many promo codes and as of yet I don’t know of a way to limit the total amount of codes used. Its possible to make it exclusive or one per customer but i didn’t see any other kind of limits.

So when i give away my code I’m always up at night wondering which one of these guys is perhaps going to share it without my permission and empty my entire stock.

Therefore as a fellow yid and businessman in the same type of industry i am urging you to do the right thing and request cancellation and give this guy a break.

I am also asking you DAN to please consider these type of coupon codes as not regular discounts as i don’t know anyone that wants to give away more than a handful of items for free.

Dan- I think u shld be extra careful about such things in the future. Imagine if you were the cause of someone losing 40k that would be quite a serious action to be held accountable for. The deal was shared by an insider on the DansDeals Facebook page for people to get this product and review it.

Sellers should be more careful in learning how online coupons and social media work and not have more inventory than they are willing to give away for free in exchange for reviews. If you make a code for a free product it’s up to you to control the limitations on it because it will get out there.

I made the post update as the seller asked me to do so, but I can’t divine intentions of these promotions, especially when they’re promoted the way this one was. Plenty of companies give away hundreds of free products to garner good reviews.

Either way, no reason not to cancel when the seller asks nicely.

Dan – just curious as to whether you know how Amazon works with price mistakes? Can a third-party seller cancel a huge block of orders or is there some sort of penalty. Is this case different because it wasn’t a price error but a coupon code.

Sellers (Shmiel) – isn’t it worth a call to Amazon Customer service to learn how to work these coupons and limit the number so something like this doesn’t happen, or even if it is not for a review but just for the first 100 customers etc., shouldn’t there be a way to limit these coupons?

either
1.send a message through amazon to those that bought it. 2.cancel your amazon account and open a new one.
3.when shipping the item put a letter saying it was a mistake and if we can please return it.

Just sent an email to the seller in Hebrew letters and in the Yiddish Language asking him for proof that he is Chassidish, by telling me any Chassidish Torah or Vort on the Parasha.
