If you already clicked on the general sale link from this post https://www.dansdeals.com/shopping-deals/amazon/buy-80-proctor-gamble-products-get-20-amazon-credit-save-bounty-pampers-charmin/ the code was already applied and that is why you are getting that message.
If your credit doesn’t apply once you receive your order automatically you can always call Amazon to get it, but you should be good.

Don’t know if it will end up working using SS, as im still able to use the code again for $20 when i go through regular checkout.

Then if I get the message that I got the Amazon $20 credit, should I cancel the subscribe and save and order it regular, or does that mean I would be getting the credit on subscribe and save?

Seems like the item needs to ship to activate the credit. So as long as the item is still avlb and coupons. You can move the ss date up to as close as possible and hope the $20 will be triggered.
