I LOVE Polar Bear suitcases. As you probably know, I have a bit of a travel addiction. And while I enjoy a trip to Miami every now and then, I don’t dream about flying to Miami. I loved exploring far-flung places like Longyearbyen, Palau, Tasmania, Zimbabwe, Patagonia, the Maldives, the Whitsunday Islands, or Antarctica! As a kosher observant Jew that means I have to bring my own food unless there happens to be a Chabad House with a restaurant at my destination.
On our way to Alaska this past August, with 3 Polar Bear 48 packs and the kitchen sink…I mean toaster oven:
On shorter trips, I just freeze food a few days before the trip and the food arrives frozen. But on longer trips, on trips when there can be weather that cancels a flight, or when the connections times are very tight or long I pack my items in a Polar Bear suitcase.
Food that’s been frozen solid beforehand will stay frozen for a few days in a full Polar Bear suitcase without any ice. If you add ice packs it will stay frozen for few days longer.
It truly opens up the world for anyone who needs to travel with perishables. The 48 pack is the largest size that they make. The trick to expand it is to fill it up with warm water and let it stand with water in it for half an hour or so. After that, you should be able to fit about 50 pounds of food or about 2 dozen small trays of food in it, depending on how well packaged the food is. For family travel, expect to need a couple of these.

Is this going to ship right away?
Website still seems to say “shipping in January.” Hoping you got some good intel from your founder friend! Need these for Maui in a week!
They told me they’re not shipping until the end of the month. Please correct your post so others don’t order pre-Yeshiva Break and end up disappointed.
@dan we have to reserve the word HURRY! For 50% or greater discounts
This is 54% off.
Also, it often sells out for months at a time.
What do you do about customs? Do you declare your food? Its probably do you obvious to hide..
It’s probably worth hiding it and not declaring it. What’s the worst that can happen already… Huge fines? Having your known traveler number revoked? Maybe some jail time? No big deal
Most countries are find with food, but do your research:

does the 10 percent discount for signing up to text notices, does that stack with the 20 percent cold dicount?
No
Stop breaking their website Dan
So i bought one of these to try out , the smallest size available. I thru in a pound of frozen meat from my freezer erev shabbos and it was totally defrosted motzei shabbos. I was expecting a bit more based on the post.
That’s not how it works. Either you need to fill the bag with frozen food, or use ice packs or frozen milk, etc.
