Update 2, 02/28: This offer officially must be booked by tonight, 02/28.

I think United is realizing that they overpriced some of the partner award rates during their devaluation last year, so I won’t be surprised to see this sale return again.

—————————————————————————–

Update, 02/05: We’ve seen this offer come and go since last year without any official announcement, but United has finally made it official and published this list of 10 zones with discounted partner award pricing.

They’ve also published an end date. You have to ticket your award by 02/28/15.

While it says that previously booked travel isn’t eligible for a refund, people have reported success calling to have it repriced and have had miles refunded without paying any fee!

Originally posted on 02/01:

These discounted partner awards were previously only valid until 03/31/15. They were bookable in December and the first half of January before they stopped working.

Apparently must have been happy with the results as they are back and can be booked for travel all the way through 12/31/15!

Discounted awards:

1. Fly one-way between the US and Europe on a partner airline in business class for the United rate of 57.5K (normally 70K)
2. Fly one-way between the US and Central Asia on a partner airline in business class for the United rate of 70K (normally 80K)
3. Fly one-way between the US and North Asia on a partner airline in business class for the United rate of 70K (normally 80K)

Swiss is currently offering a confirmed upgrade from business class to a first class seat between Zurich and Tel Aviv for just $299. I don’t know if it’s valid on award tickets, but if you try it please post a comment!

Great find, thank you!

I can’t seem to find much info about this on the United site (although I did find a day that worked from IAH to HKG) regarding specifics for booking, timeframe, etc. but will keep perusing.

Any chance they’ll reprice an award we already have at the 80k-level?

We’re flying Asiana most of the way (connecting in LA first from IAH), and there are no flights available to rebook online (guess we snagged the last seats).

What happens if I have a previously booked award on a partner. Can I take request mileage credit.

LX ZRH TLV ZRH route F seat

Any Business class pass. Should be able to get this

The charge is for a seat assignment in the F section and is available for Business class passengers only but do not offer any F service on this route

Eli

@Anonymous: What if they do an equipment swap to the a320? will they refund the $299?

RebYid

So, I’m assuming that if I have membership rewards I’m out of luck? Since I can only transfer them to a United partner, and this would have to be booked with actual United miles.

Dov

strange doesn’t seem to work for 2/9
works for 2/11

pointie

I just tried LAX to TPE via EVA and it’s pricing normal, 80k one way. How are you replicating USA to award 4 and getting 70k for this route?

O yeh!

FRA-PHL. BOOKED! 57.5K!

Anonymous

Does not work for den-fra for next week in C , normal pricing

Sandy

@Pointe. I’m not sures what causes the difference in how United prices the flights but to Japan is pricing at 65,000 to 70,000 (with some partner legs on OZ or NH). Even in first class at 80,000 with NH as one of the segment.

pointie

Thanks, Sandy…..F on NH for 80k is great.

@Reb Yid:
nooo… ultimate reward points transferred to united is united miles sames as united miles you would earn from united credit card. you can book anything on there.

Ben

Amazing – LAX – MILAN BAYBUH BAYBUH!

Moshe

so would Israel fall into category 5?

Anonymous

@Moshe: no

Achshell

@Eli: Swiss always uses A330 to TLV. The A320 can’t make it to USA.

Shoeless

Thank You Dan!
Because of your site and seminar, I was able to easily afford to book two tickets Austrian Air Business Class JFK -> VIE -> DBV for 230,000 +$200 in fees.
It was my first reward booking and I was able to swing .07 CPM.
THANK YOU ! THANK YOU ! THANK YOU

Rita

Hi !
Is there any way to design a trip from US to Shanghai (70k), Tel Aviv and back to the US using these reduced rates for business class?
Thanks!

Shoeless

@Shoeless: Roundtrip

I just booked two tickets EWR – TLV a few weeks ago for the regular, higher rate. What’s the best way to approach getting credited for this promotion?
