Update: Today is the last day to take advantage of this incredible offer!
As long as you initiate the transfer by 11/30 you will get the bonus from United.

You can then click on “Credit Cards From All Banks“ to find card offers via the logo of the bank you’re looking for.
- Limited Time Offer: Earn 35,000 Starpoints Signup Bonus On The Starwood Business AMEX!
- Short on Starpoints? You can buy up to 30,000 Starpoints per year here. Starpoints are on sale through 12/29! Plus you can buy more than 30K with multiple members by transferring points for free between members living at the same address.
You can register here for 30% bonus when you transfer hotel points to United miles.
-The promotion runs through 11/30. It is run by United, so you won’t see any mention of it on the hotel’s points site or during the transfer process. As long as you initiate the transfer by 11/30 you will get the bonus from United.
-United will add 30% bonus miles for all transfers from hotel programs made between 10/9-11/30. (Transfers from Club Carlson will be multiplied by 100% so that 100K points will now become 20K miles and transfers from Choice Privileges will be multiplied by 225% so that 5K points will become 3,250 miles, all other chains will be multiplied by 30%.)
-You can earn up to 25K bonus miles with this promotion per United account. You can transfer Starpoints between members who live at the same address to take advantage of this bonus with multiple United accounts.
-United will add the bonus miles by 1/30/18.
You won’t want to transfer Starpoints directly to United. While 20K Starwood points can transfer into 25K airline miles with dozens of airlines, it only transfers into 12.5K United miles.
Most other hotel chains don’t offer compelling transfer values for points to miles, but Starwood’s merger partner Marriott has some real gems.
You can transfer 56K Marriott Rewards points into 25K United miles. United will add 30% more miles, leaving you with 32,500 miles.
You can transfer 19K Starwood points into 57K Marriott Rewards points, which will give you 25K United miles and you’ll have 1,000 Marriott Rewards leftover. You can convert those leftover points back into 333 Starpoints. Effectively you can transfer 18,667 Starpoints into 32,500 United miles, an effective 74.1% bonus compared Starwood’s normal 25% bonus!
Or you can transfer 56K Starpoints points into 168K Marriott points which will give you 75K United miles plus 22.5K bonus miles from United for a total of 97.5K United miles.
-An even better deal is with Marriott’s miles+nights packages. 90K Starpoints transfers into 270K Marriott Rewards points. That can be used for 157K United miles and 7 nights in a Marriott category 1-5 hotel with the 25K bonus miles from this United promotion.
Of course the transfer is more valuable if you will use the 7 night hotel certificate. It’s hard to impute a value of the transfer bonus as this includes miles and nights, but let’s attack it from 4 different angles that will show the highest possible valuation, a reasonable stay valuation, a dirt cheap stay valuation, and the lowest possible valuation.
1. 7 nights at a category 5 hotel would normally cost 150,000 Marriott points or 50K Starpoints. If you were spending 150K Marriott points to stay for 7 nights in those hotels anyway it’s like using the extra 40K Starpoints for 157K United miles, an effective 293% transfer bonus.
2. If you wouldn’t normally stay 7 nights at a hotel, but assign a reasonable value of 5K Starpoints per night, that would make the certificate worth 35K Starpoints. That means we can assign a value of 55K Starpoints use for 157K United miles, an effective 186% transfer bonus.
3. If you wouldn’t normally stay 7 nights at a hotel, but assign a dirt cheap value of 3K Starpoints per night, that would make the certificate worth 21K Starpoints. That means we can assign a value of 69K Starpoints use for 157K United miles, an effective 128% transfer bonus.
4. Don’t need 7 nights in a hotel? Some Marriott reps will allow you to return the 7 night hotel certificate for a refund of 45K Marriott points which you can transfer back to 15K Starpoints. You may need to book a hotel and cancel it in order to receive a 45K point refund. That’s not a good value for the 7 night hotel certificate, but if you won’t use the hotel stay then it’s better than nothing. If you return the certificate it’s like using 75K Starpoints for 157K United miles, an effective 109.3% transfer bonus.
-Alternatively about 83,333 Starpoints becomes 250K Marriott points which is enough for 135,000 United miles and 7 nights in a Marriott category 1-5 hotel with the 20K bonus miles from this United promotion. Even if you don’t use the 7 night hotel certificate being able to transfer 83,333 Starpoints into 135K United miles is an effective 62% transfer bonus!
Marriott miles and nights award chart:
It’s worth noting that there is also a 5 night hotel plus points package, but it’s officially intended for timeshare owners. Most Marriott reps won’t sell it to regular members, but some might if you play enough HUCA by calling them at 800-321-7396.
78,333 Starpoints would transfer into 235K Marriott points which becomes 157,000 United miles and 5 nights in a Marriott category 1-5 hotel.
Once again, it’s hard to impute the value of the transfer bonus, but this will show the highest possible valuation, a reasonable stay valuation, a dirt cheap stay valuation, and the lowest possible valuation.
1. 5 nights at a category 5 hotel would normally cost 100,000 Marriott points or 33,333 Starpoints. If you were staying for 5 nights in those hotels anyway it’s like using 45K Starpoints for 157K United miles, an effective 249% transfer bonus.
2. If you wouldn’t normally stay 5 nights at a hotel, but assign a reasonable value of 5K Starpoints per night, that would make the certificate worth 25K Starpoints. That means we can assign a value of 53,333 Starpoints use for 157K United miles, an effective 174% transfer bonus.
3. If you wouldn’t normally stay 5 nights at a hotel, but assign a dirt cheap value of 3K Starpoints per night, that would make the certificate worth 15K Starpoints. That means we can assign a value of 63,333 Starpoints use for 157K United miles, an effective 148% transfer bonus.
4. Some reps will allow you to return the 5 night hotel certificate for a refund of 10K Marriott points which you can transfer back to 3,333 Starpoints. You may need to book a hotel and cancel it in order to receive a 10K point refund. That’s not a good value for the 5 night hotel certificate, but if you won’t use the hotel stay then it’s better than nothing. If you return the certificate it’s like using 75K Starpoints for 157K United miles, an effective 109.3% transfer bonus.
Using those 4 different scenarios shows us that:
-If you value the hotel nights at the actual cost of redeeming points for the room that you’re better with the 7 night option than the 5 night option.
-If you value the hotel nights as something, but lower than the actual cost of redeeming points for the room that you’re better with the 5 night option than the 7 night option.
-If you plan on returning the hotel night certificate that the value for your Starpoints to airline mile transfer will be the same whether you use the 5 night or the 7 night option.
There are a few things worth noting about the Marriott miles+nights redemption methods:
- You must call Marriott at 800-321-7396 if you want to book a miles+nights package.
- The miles will post within a few days of the transfer, regardless of when or if you use the 7 night certificate.
- The 7 night electronic hotel certificate expires in 1 year, though Marriott currently will extend them for 1 additional year if you contact them.
- You don’t need to choose the hotel at the time of a nights+miles redemption.
- The certificate must be used at one property for 7 consecutive nights.
- You can have the certificate issued in anyone’s name.
- You can upgrade your hotel certificate by paying the difference in points later on. For example if you wanted 7 nights at the category 7 Renaissance Tel Aviv Hotel you would need 330K Marriott or 110K Starpoints for that stay and you would get 157K miles. If you wanted 7 nights at the tier 3 Ritz-Carlton Herzliya you would need 420K Marriott or 140K Starpoints for that stay and you would get 157K miles.
-Don’t forget that if you have Starwood Platinum Status you can match it to Marriott Platinum which will also get you United Silver status!

No bonus for transfers from Chase. Correct?
No
Does this work for transferring chase points or only hotel miles?
Hotel only.
the 5 night certificate doesn’t work anymore?
If you have success please let us know and I’ll update the post 🙂
I’ve added the 5 night details to the post.
You need to transfer 90k from Starwood to Marriott to united to get the 7 night stay and 157k united?
Is there an option for moving less points and getting a 5 night stay?
There is a 5 night option, but officially it’s only for timeshare owners.
Try calling to get that one and let us know how it goes.
Be prepared to HUCA.
owners of marriott “timeshare”?
Yes.
is there an award chart for the 5 night, and would it be less miles?
It’s in the post.
If I use the miles+nights package to get 120k southwest points would those points qualify for the companion pass?
Not anymore.
https://www.dansdeals.com/points-travel/milespoints/5-weeks-left-until-southwests-companion-pass-becomes-much-harder-to-obtain-heres-how-you-can-take-advantage-before-its-too-late/
No
Can i transfer the united miles back to marriott if need be?
What is the transfer rate?
No.
I was sure if you have a status with united you can..
https://secure.unitedmileageplus.com/reg/rewards_plus/index.html
Heh, fair enough, but that requires status, is a horrible ratio, and is capped at 50K/year.
“100% so that 100K points will now become 20K”
it should read 200k not 20k.
(no need to post)
It’s correct as written.
I’ve added the 5 night redemption details to this post.
Post a comment if you are successful in booking one!
Thanks for the interesting read Dan. Even Flyertalk readers here have to think long and hard about this. Now I have to take a look at qualifying properties in Hawaii. We even went to shul on the Big Island a number of years ago. It was an outdoor service at a hotel the was a Conservative Reform combo.
It’s quite a generous transfer bonus.
Check out Chabad next time. Some of my most memorable Shabbos services and meals have been at chabad houses around the globe 🙂
Does Vayama have the same 24 hour cancellation policy as priceline? Or Priceline is better because it has more then 24 hours on weekends ?like if I booke sat night I have till Monday night to cancel on priceline 1130 pm does that also work for other websites like Vayama and cheapoair? Thanks
I would think very carefully before booking on Vayama and CheapOAir (which it seems are run by the same backend operators). In the past, their cancellation policies have been opaque. Now, it seems that with Cheap-O-Air they charge $50 for cancellation within 24 hours; after that, no cancellation. Priceline has FREE cancellation until 11:29 PM the day after booking, which is usually more than 24 hours. Plus, as you noted, you get until the following Monday night for weekend bookings. In addition, you have to call in to cancel, which I’ve had to do- and it’s an awful experience with long wait times and broken-English reps. I don’t think Cheap-O-Air has prices that are that much cheaper most of the time like they used to, and would highly recommend Priceline and Orbitz.
Thank you very much dan
And ctownbachur
Avoid Vayama and Cheapoair.

thanks dan one more question the max bonus of 25k united miles,
so the 7 nights plus 110k miles for 250 marriot miles gets me the max bonus correct?
Technically correct, but the 270K is still a better deal, as illustrated in the post.
Dan, its hard to find a good 1-5 category hotel. Do you its better to chip in more spg miles and get Category 7 hotel? Could be more useful.
As the post says, you can upgrade the category later on.
Hello Dan! Unfortunately, I will argue with you. I just called Marriott Rewards Rep. and had talked with two of thank and they are giving me a hard time. I want to upgrade a certificate 1-5categories to certificate 8 category for 90000 and they want to do only this way:
1)Redeposit back only 45000
2)Since I have 90000 it will make total 135000
3) They say I need extra 20000 for total of 155000 for seven nights at category 8.
Tell me please, what do you think what should I do?
Thank You
Do i need to register now for this promo to get in on it ? or can i register in a month from now?
Hey, there is a link there to register…
are the points from spg to Marriott transferred instantly ?
Yes
I have 30k star points, is ut worth doing anything here or save them for the next big xsfer bonus?
Only if desperatly need United miles. As Dan described, the best deal here is to transfer SPG-Marriot-United. Otherwise, its a just a good deal.
I have 15k Marriott
How many United will I get?
24k?
What’s more valuable?
Please use a builtin in your Windows/Mac to calculate how many miles you will get
can you use the 7 nights at a starwood hotel?
no, maybe if you wait for ~ 1year when they will finalize the merge.
What about HHoners
Not a good ratio.
This could be a solid deal for those in Israel to what United deems “Central Asia.” 35K each way in business + easy to use a 7 night cert.
Beware of the 11/1 devaluation though.
I don’t believe this redemption is changing this time around – have I missed something?
Any idea if they will allow any SPG hotels come the merger?
My guess would be the same as Ritz hotels, they will have a separate table.
http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi
It’s possible. Hard to say.
Is united a good airline to fly to Israel and how much points would it be?
Great airline.
42.5K each way.
Can I use this hotel voucher for any hotels in Yerushaleim?
The only current Israel hotels are written in the post.
Does this work for Hilton-honors points
Not a good ratio.
@dan
I am new to here and I am a layman in terms of miles and point
I am simply not able to understand “how?” to transfer.
do you have a previous post or link that can help me understand this a bit better
If you already have a marriott balance can you just transfer from SPG the difference to get you to 270K to transfer to United?
Sure.
There’s a phone number in the post to call to book a Marriott points+nights combo transfer package.
We have about300k spg points. How many tickets and how can we book to tlv?
The Hyatt transfer is a pretty good ratio. If you signed up for the Hyatt card (with a AU) you got 45k after to 2k of spending you are at 47k. If you can push your balance to 50k you can convert that to 31k United. Not bad for a card that not subject to 5/24
Meh. Better uses as Hyatt points.
I think there is a slight mistake on the Choice hotel points to United transfer. The United website and Choice Hotel website says for a limited time until Nov 30, 5000 pts will convert to 2500 miles not 3250 as you suggested. That 5000->2500 miles conversion is already taking into account the 30% bonus, right?
https://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/mileageplus/transfer/hotelandcar.aspx
Not a mistake. Read the terms.
How long does the transfer from Marriot to United take?
A few days.
thanks Dan
I don’t fully understand how the upgrade works. Does that mean it’s only an additional 20K star points for a category 7?
Correct.
Looking to fly to Panama from NYC this yeshiva winter break (Jan 17-Jan25). I have no United miles, but plenty of SPG points. If I understand your post correctly, I cannot rely on the bonus point being deposited any time soon – the points might even come too late to get reasonable tickets? Thanks!
The 132K miles will post within a few days.
The 25K bonus miles can take until 1/30.
@Dan if i don’t want the certificate what is the best way to get some points back.
I currently have the 7 day certificate but dont think i will use it.
Read the post for refund instructions.
Or try selling it to someone.
@Dan is it for sure I will get the 45K points for the certificate?
Anybody looking to buy a 7 day certificate.
It’s YMMV. If you call let us know how your HUCA goes.
You can try selling on DDF.
What’s better value? 15k Marriott or 20k united?
I’ll buy it
I have 7,440 choice points – does it make sense to transfer them to united? How much united points worth? Choice also runs a promotion for buying their points for 5000 points and up and add 30% bonus. 5000 is $55. So basically for $88 one can buy 6500 united points. does it make sense to do so? Thanks!
Dan, could you please show the math how you get this.. I don’t see any information online on how this works out..
“75K SPG Into 157K Miles” ?
Did you read the post?
I currently have 75k spg points and also have about 150k amex points. I would like to try to get the 7 night voucher through the transfer for 90k spg points. How would I go about doing that? Thanks
I already did a transfer once of 270,000 Marriott points. Can i do this again now and get the same deal? Or will United only give me this bonus once?
Read the post?
can one combine two Marriott 7 day rewards cat 1-5, to upgrade to a better category?
No.
I transferred 270K Marriott points but only received 132K United points. Would the other 25K post sometime later?
Read the post?
missed it, thanks!
Do i transfer points on my spg or marriott accnt?
Marriott.
Is this a targeted promo? My account shows ineligible
Same here
Ended up working a few days later, check back if it’s a new account
AHHHH!!!!! was hoping to convert 84k SPG points into 7 day Marriot stay + United miles, but just found out that there are no category 4 or 5 in Hawaii. The lowest being a category 6 on Kaui.
what shall i do? please help.
Upgrade to category 6.
If anyone wants to trade my Fairmont certificates for marriot points I have 3 Fairmont certificates with suite upgrade and willow spa cert etc . I have the certificates and I would like to take advantage of this marriot promotion before it expires email pesach1900@gmail.com
will make this very quick and efficient have done deals on ddf before
Do United miles expire? I don’t have an immediate need for United but it seems like a great deal. Does it make sense to do it?
No expiration as long as you have any activity once every 18 months.
Also no expiration if you have a United card.
My wife has a United card but I don’t. Is there a way for me to transfer from my spg to my Marriott to her United acct?
You may still be able to link your SPG account with her Marriott account:
http://members.marriott.com/link-accounts/
I did the the transfer last year, can I do it again?
Of course.
Thanks for the reminder
Sure!
How long does it take to transfer 90K SPG Into 157K Miles And 7 Nights In A Marriott Hotel?
Read the post.
i converted 90 spg into 270 marriot. im enrolled for the 30% bonus with united. when i click on the link to do the conversion, the max points it allows me “order”to transfer is 112,000 x 2 which i did. now im left with 46k marriot points in my marriot acct.
does the 112k x 2 +224k conversion into united miles give me the max punch that you are posting about or am i missing a step here?
You were supposed to do the 7 nights+miles package, as the post says.
i did. i clicked the link you provided about and clicked on the 270k points which i paid for with 90k spg…
Now you need to call Marriott to book the package described in the post.
i may have missed that step. i believe after i had the 270k marriot points i transferred them to united. will i get the 30 percent bonus? did i miss out on the 7 night hotel certificate? any recommendations?
can you please advise?
You will get the bonus, you won’t get as many miles or the hotel nights.
Try calling Marriott to cancel and read the post next time.
Did the transfer. Rep said allow 3 days for united to get the points. Will United still add bonus miles if they get the points after 11/30?
Yes. You just need to initiate by 11/30.
should i be transfering straight from spg to united or spg to marriott to united? dont need the hotel stay…just want the mileage
You get more miles with the hotel package than without it. And you can possibly convert the hotel into more miles as the post says.
Aside for maxing out the 25k from united’s end, how is the hotel package more (proportionally)? Without getting value from the actual 7 night stay I’m asking.
Did you do the math?
Yes. 90K Starpoints to 157K United miles is a bonus of about 74% – same as the previous 2 examples you bring. What am I missing?
75K Starpoints if you get the cert refunded.
Dan, a random question. Have you ever traveled to Panama? If yes, would you recommend for summer family vacation?
No, but you can find trip reports here on DDF:
http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=2882.0
People seem to love it.
Will all of this still work tomorrow 11/30?
Yes.
I want to do this, but my only hesitancy is whether the points have to post by 11/30 (see last line of paragraph below) or whether the transfer just has to be made. Are there any DP’s or confirmations from Marriott about this?
“A member must earn award miles as a result of one or more points to miles conversion transactions from any combination of MileagePlus hotel partner programs that offer a points to miles transfer program that are conducted during the Promotional Period (‘Qualifying Activity’) in order to qualify for MileagePlus Hotel Points-to-Miles bonus miles (‘Bonus Miles’). Qualifying Activity must be completed by 11:59pm EST November 30, 2017.”
Transfers always are backdated to the day they were initiated. Always.
How quick will spg points transfer to family member?
with Marriott’s miles+nights packages, is the 157k united miles before the extra 25k bonus from united, or the 25k is included in that?
Yes. It’s normally 132K.
thx dan, just bought a pkg for 7 nites + 110K miles
Didn’t have 6.6K more Starpoints to get 22K more miles?
should have, huh? wanted to save some rewards pts for a future upgrade to cat. 6
Would have been worth buying the 6.6K SPG to get 22K more miles.
Call and see if you can still change it?
k, will chk
If I redeem a miles + nights pkg tonight, is there any guarantee that the Marriott will process the transfer in time for me to get the United bonus? Since United’s transfer bonus expires tomorrow, i suppose the mileage transfer must be processed within a day to qualify for the bonus. How soon does Marriott typically process? thx
You only need to initiate the bonus by 11/30.
I like to stay with the family at Marriott Vacation Clubs. But it seems pretty random and whether they will accept points, even though they are listed as “Category __.” How, if at all, can I tell if they will accept points for a stay?
Have lots of united and Starwood points already. the certificates themselves are hard for me to utilize well. With 3 kids I need a residence inn and prefer a 2 bedroom. 99% of the time the certificate caps out for the 1 bedrooms. Only on one occasion was able to upgrade to 2 bed. Beyond that I don’t have a need for long Marriott stays.
So just transferring 90k Starwood and even with getting 15k points refund for 157k united miles seems ok but not amazing – yes – I read the post and all the comment abut am I missing something here? Where’s the incredible value if you don’t have a current need for united miles?
75K Starpoints for 157K United is pretty amazing.
If you don’t need them then you have your answer, but that doesn’t make it less amazing.
Just to be clear if I wanr A category 9 note stay and 132k united miles I can Transfer 130k spg and end up getting about 171k united miles plus the 7 night stay. If so, when does the certificate expire ? Can I redeem It for December 2018?
Read the post. Yes.
if i have over 300k starwood points that i can sell for 1.95 is it still worth it to transfer to united
Do the math?
Marriott rep says it takes 3 business days for the transfer. Will I still get the 35k bonus miles?
Yes, read the post.
Using Marriot miles=night you mentioned 2 options:
A)270 marriot = 157k united + 7nights
B)250 marriot = 135 united + 7nights
Because of the 15k starwood redeposit it’s effectively 75 starwood for 157 united = 109%
Regarding option B you wrote transfer bonus is 62%. It’s really more. 83,333 – 15k = 68,333 for 135k united which = 97%! not as good as option A but pretty close!
I don’t understand the how it works out from SPG points when you first have to transfer 2 points for every mile
Read the post?
Dan, thank you so much for everything.
I have 63k spg points and my wife has 55k. We both are second users in our Amex cards.
Is there any way to combine the spg points to 90k without waiting 5 business days? Or somehow to transfer them into the same Marriott Rewards account?
Dan…your patience answering the same questions multiple times is amazing! Just read the post… all the information is there.
I used this deal for 7 nights in Aruba for yeshiva week and just booked the Ritz in Hertzilya for 420k
Both are great deals…you get United miles which are valuable at a great exchange rate and free hotel stay on top of it.
THANKS Dan
Hawaii only has 2 x marriot courtyards (category 6 or lower) with 0 on Maui. what should i do as i only have 250k spg points.
Buy Starpoints.
You can also upgrade the category later on.
to buy 27k starwood points costs approx $650. this money spent will dilute my savings as i am spending $90/ day to use the certificate. plus, for a category 7 hotel the one on maui looks mediocre.
best places to use these 7 day marriot certificates ?
Please excuse my ignorance. First time for me. And I didn’t see this info in the post. How do you actually transfer the points from Marriott Rewards to United? On the United website or on the Marriott website. I haven’t been successful in finding it on either of the sites.
It is in the post. In bold red letters.
Looked through all the bold red letters in your post and there’s nothing that shows how to transfer the miles from Marriott Rewards to United Mileage Plus. Can you please advise? Thanks
“You must call Marriott at 800-321-7396 if you want to book a miles+nights package.”
Wasn’t looking for a miles plus nights package. Just a simple transfer of the points.
My 132k posted but not the additional 25k. Shouldn’t they have posted at the same time?
Read the post.
I see now
Just to be sure, you get the same 30% bonus no matter how many Marriott points you transfer to United (up to the 25,000 bonus), correct?
Yes.
I see on the page to transfer it has set amounts as the options. Is there a way to transfer a custom amount online, or need to call for that?
How do you find that page? I’ve been searching to transfer and can’t figure out how.
You click here https://promotions.united.com/offers/p2m and register, then it will show you a link to transfer (here: http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morerew.mi)
@ Dan, I made the transfer to United and 2 days later i realized I forgot to sign up for the bonus so I finally signed up 2 days after I already transfered the miles. – will they honor the bonus still ?
@mordechai, @dan i made the same mistake didn’t realise u need to register until after i transferred , let me if there is anything i can do ? thanks
Thank you, Dan. I did it last year too(on the very last day 11/30, just like this year 🙂 and didn’t have any problem with the bonus.
I have two different SPG accounts that im trying to send over to marriott. Is there anyway that I can have the same marriott account linked to multiple SPG accounts? i just changed the address on one of the SPG accounts so i wont be able to transfer between SPG accounts for 30 days.
Aside from the 90k and 83k option where there is an added benefit of the 7 night stay, is there a reason you picked 18.6k over any other amount? Is lit preferable to transfer in certain increments? Or more than certain amount?
Increments.
Thanks for the comprehensive post. I initiated it today and started to worry about how long it would take to be received by UA. According to Marriott it’ll take 2-3 business days. After reading your post though I think I’m all set.
Enjoy!
I just spoke to a marriot rep, and she claimed that she confirmed with her supervisor that United will not be honoring the bonus if it was transferred through the hotel + air package can anyone confirm if this is true or not?
Nonsense.
She’s mixing this up with the AA or AC promos that exclude hotel+air transfers.
Nothing in the UA terms say that.
Might not get the 30% bonus miles (25,000 miles) as today is the last day to do this (as you mentioned) and the miles will only hit your United account tmrw. Still a good deal overall though even without the 30% bonus.
False. Read the post.
register for promotion dead? not working for me
Is it to late?
its telling me this “The MileagePlus number you submitted is invalid or not eligible for this offer.” when i try my wife’s or mine MP account number.
Please advise.
registration for bonus doesn’t work for me!
officially dead? must I always be late?
Y’all boggle my mind.
Why do you wait until the final hour when this has been around since mid October!
its my nature!! I actually DO HATE MYSELF!!
just read the terms”Registration:
To qualify for this offer, members must register for the promotion between October 9, 2017 and 11:59pm EST November 30, 2017 (“Promotional Period”)”
making the call now
but Dan, if not for us, why should you post these things the last day?… obviously you take a chance for us back here…
Can’t register for promo through United- should I still make a transfer and hope for the best?
was told by rep that supervisor said not to attempt the transfer without register, just screenshot the error and time, and they MIGHT offer a workaround
Do you have to register before the transfer in order to be eligible for the bonus? I get an ineligible notice when using the link to register
The United points to miles promotion web site has not been accepting our Mileage plus numbers for several hours today (it is still before Mid night). Any suggestions Dan on how to still get the bonus as it will be expiring shortly?
That is, to still register for the promotion (we already transferred with Marriott as you instructed) Thank you Dan!
I tried registering for the transfer bonus and it said my mileage plus account wasn’t eligible. I called united and they said it is a targeted promotion, only valid if you got an email about the promotion. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
dan, please help, were up to Neliah now
Hashem may have rachmanus on those who wait until Neilah, but I don’t, sorry.
Don’t want until the final hour next time there’s a hot deal that’s been around for 2 months.
when i click the link to united offer, It says my account is not eligible for the promotion. Is that because I still have the continental format of 2 letters and then 6 numbers? I never had a problem logging in to my united account.
After an hour plus with tech support and Mileage Plus staff–they said it doesnt work because it was a ‘targeted’ offer only and not for everyone.
Dan is that correct info? Apparently this was from the supervisor
After spending 40 minutes tonight with Am Ex, SPG and United I was told by United that I was not eligible for the promotion. I was suspect to begin with since United usually is the worse transfer for SPG getting only one United for two SPG points.; 30% of 18.5k is not 32.5k miles. Thanks for mentioning it was a targeted offer
Dan actually posted the link that was necessary for the promo bonus
Can I pay the difference in money instead of points if I wanted a better category then a 1-5 at the time of booking?
When should the bonus miles show up?
Read the post.
-Alternatively about 83,333 Starpoints becomes 250K Marriott points which is enough for 135,000 United miles and 7 nights in a Marriott category 1-5 hotel with the 20K bonus miles from this United promotion. Even if you don’t use the 7 night hotel certificate being able to transfer 83,333 Starpoints into 135K United miles is an effective 62% transfer bonus!
there is way to get something close to that today ?
I haven’t received the 30% bonus from United yet. Has anyone gotten it?
This is what United replied when I questioned why I didn’t receive the 30% bonus:
I apologize for our delay in responding. We’re experiencing a higher volume of e-mail than normal and we’re working on responding as quickly as possible.
The 30% bonus mile offer required you to register prior to requesting the transfer. We do not show your account registered for the bonus so is not eligible.
Whenever possible, we try to accommodate our customers’ requests. I’m sorry we’re unable to do so in this instance. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

The link to register for 30% bonus you posted above is not working… Is there an updated link?
You can register here for 30% bonus when you transfer hotel points to United miles.
