Transfer Marriott Points To Etihad And Get A 50% Bonus
If you transfer points from select partners, including Marriott, to Etihad between 4/8-4/30 you’ll get a 50% bonus!
The bonus miles should post to your account no later than mid-May.
In 2019, a similar promotion offered a 20% bonus.
Transfers from AMEX, Barclays, Capital One, and Citi to Etihad will not receive a bonus.
Increments of 60K Marriott points would convert into 37.5K Etihad miles.
Note that the Marriott transfer page has been #Bonvoyed since the SPG merger and will only state that you’ll get 20K miles with a 60K point transfer. However you will also get a bonus 5K miles from Marriott with each 60K increment and you’ll get the bonus 50% from Etihad on top of that afterward.
You can earn Marriott points with the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Consumer Card, Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Consumer Card, Marriott Bonvoy Business AMEX, and the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Consumer AMEX.Â
While award tickets on Etihad are typically pricey and are often a better value booked with partner airline miles, Etihad has some very good redemption rates on their own partner airlines.
For example here is their award chart for travel on American, which is very similar to American’s pre-devaluation award chart. You can fly to Europe or South America for just 20K miles each way in coach on off-peak dates or 50K miles in business. A business class ticket to Israel is 67.5K miles each way while a business class ticket to Australia is 62.5K miles each way.
Unfortunately, you’ll need to call Etihad to book partner awards.
Here is Etihad’s award chart for travel on Royal Air Maroc:
That means you can fly nonstop in a Dreamliner from JFK, Boston, Miami, Montreal, or Washington DC to Casablanca for just 22K miles in coach (plus $120 fuel surcharges) or 44K miles in lie-flat business class (plus $170 fuel surcharges) each way. If you find yourself in South America, you can fly from Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro to Casablanca without any fuel surcharges.
Alternatively you can use 57.5K AA miles each way to fly in business class between JFK and Casablanca with no fuel surcharges. 60K Marriott points convert into 25K American miles.
Royal Air Maroc’s 787-8 has business class in a 2-2-2 configuration, while their 787-9, which can be found on the JFK flights, has business class in a reverse herringbone 1-2-1 direct aisle access configuration.
Morocco has been on my bucket list since reading this DDF Trip Report. You can find the DDF Master Thread on Morocco here.
There are other partner award bargains as well, post which ones you find!

Worthwhile to transfer to JAL for Etihad First class to Dubai, or is this a better deal to transfer direct?
Iceberg, Goldberg…
You confuse Emirates and Etihad methinks.
For layman how many Marriott points for round trip NYC to IL? American or any other. Thx
60K Marriott=37.5K Etihad.
JFK-TLV is 45K Etihad in coach or 67.5K in business each way.
How much would you value Marriot points on its own with redemption thru Marriot?
About 0.65 cents/point.
@Dan
Any chance you can post a TR from your most recent
trip to Hawaii? Going soon.
1. does Etihad charge charge fuel surcharge on AA awards ?
2. Whenever I see award availability for business class to tlv on aa , will Etihad only charge 67k on aa ?
Also how about a master post where you list each airline which partner is the best value to book awards with ? For example AA awards thru Etihad to tlv etc.?
Out of curiosity what would be the fuel surcharges/taxes on an AA off-peak round trip coach flight to Europe using 40K Etihad points
Call them and let us know 🙂
You might want to add that Etihad charges the same for business and first class awards on aa.
They do?
There award charts say B/F, and I’ve seen other blogs that confirm that.
Though I have not tried it myself.
Cool, if anyone tries that out let us know 🙂
I flew on aa flagship first on the a321t from jfk to lax for 25k ey (would have been the same for business)

what would be the business class Etihad/RAM luggage allowance for JFK-CMN? 3x32Kg?
when you talk about israels tickets for 67.5k for business or 45k coach are you reffering to americans new route to israel non stop starting soon or are you talking about a stopover in morroco etc ?ty
Nonstop
Have an Emirates Islamic Etihad branded credit card the gives me 50% back in points on any Etihad redemption. Great value here with the Marriott points transfer – especially if the 50% back in points works with redemptions on Etihad partner flights!
Is it worth making this transfer if I don’t have specific travel planned coming up, but have about 400K Marriott points in a Titanium Elite account?
