Get A 20% Bonus When You Transfer Hotel Points To Etihad
If you transfer hotel points to Etihad between 10/1-10/31 you’ll get a 20% bonus.
Transfers from AMEX, Barclays, Capital One, and Citi to Etihad will not receive a bonus.
You can also earn a bonus for hotel transfers to American, BA, and United currently.
Increments of 60K Marriott points would convert into 30K Etihad miles. Mileage transfers from other hotel brands are typically not a good value.
Note that the Marriott transfer page has been #Bonvoyed since the SPG merger and will only state that you’ll get 20K miles with a 60K point transfer. However you will also get a bonus 5K miles from Marriott with each 60K increment and you’ll get the bonus 20% from Etihad on top of that afterward.
You can earn Marriott points with the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Consumer Card, Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Consumer Card, Marriott Bonvoy Business AMEX, and the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Consumer AMEX. You can view a chart comparing these 4 cards here.
Etihad has some very good redemption rates on partner airlines.
For example here is their award chart for travel on Royal Air Maroc:
That means you can fly nonstop in a Dreamliner from JFK, Boston, Miami, Montreal, or Washington DC to Casablanca for just 22K miles in coach (plus $120 fuel surcharges) or 44K miles in lie-flat business class (plus $170 fuel surcharges) each way. If you find yourself in South America, you can fly from Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro to Casablanca without any fuel surcharges.
Their 787-8 has business class in a 2-2-2 configuration, while their 787-9, which can be found on the JFK flights, has business class in a reverse herringbone 1-2-1 direct aisle access configuration.
180K Marriott points will convert into 90K Etihad miles, more than enough for a round-trip between any of the cities above and Morocco in business class. That’s an outstanding value for a flight that costs more than $5,000, even with the fuel surcharges.
The bonus miles should post to your account no later than mid-November.
Morocco has been on my bucket list since reading this DDF Trip Report, so I’m pretty tempted by this offer, especially as Marriott continues to devalue their points. You can find the DDF Master Thread on Morocco here.
There are other partner award bargains as well, post which ones you find!

Fairly good, in advance.
Sorry if I missed it. But what’s the option from Los Angeles? Thanks
I missed it.

AA lax – Sao Paulo for 20k

Would you recommend transferring without any trip planned?

You need to call to book.
when entering JFK as my departure it wont except CMN as destination
Since Royal air switched to new system Eithad can’t book any rewards in business on them
