Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Into Flying Blue Miles And Get A 25% Bonus
Chase executives told me when they launched Ultimate Rewards point transfers to airlines that they decided to focus on strong partners with easy to understand transfer ratios and not on assorted transfer ratios and transfer bonuses.
But times are changing and Chase has their first ever Flying Blue transfer bonus.
Chase points normally transfer into Flying Blue miles at a 1K:1K ratio, but until 5/15 you can get 1,250 Flying Blue miles for every 1,000 Chase points.
For example you can fly in coach to Israel for 25K miles or 20K Chase points or business class to Israel for 55K miles or 41,250 Chase points.
You can also save an additional 25% for booking award tickets for kids under 12! That means kids can fly in coach to Israel for 18,750 miles or 14K Chase points or business class to Israel for 41,250 miles or 33K Chase points.
Flying Blue offers travel on Virgin Atlantic with lower fuel surcharges than if you book directly with Virgin.
Coach award calendar:
Business class from JFK to Tel Aviv for 55K miles:
Flying Blue charges 36K-36.5K miles to fly nonstop on Delta between JFK or Boston and Tel Aviv, so that will run under 30K Chase points each way. See this post for more.
Flying Blue also has rotating Promo Awards which discounts award tickets from rotating destinations to Europe.
Flying Blue is also offering free changes and cancellations due to COVID-19. Cancellations or changes normally cost 50 Euros for regular awards and isn’t normally allowed for Promo awards.
Flying Blue miles require earning activity every 24 months to keep them active, so transferring miles will also extend their validity. Miles won’t expire in 2022 due to COVID-19.
Will you take advantage of this offer?

Is it worth transferring if I have 100k Chase points and frequently use Delta?
I wouldn’t unless you have near term plans to use them and there’s availability.
Is there a way to know if there’s delta availability by just searching on delta?
No, but you can search on Virgin Atlantic for points and then filter for nonstop flights to find Delta nonstop partner award space.
But good luck finding nonstop from nyc tlv I think your example is for 2023!!
Are young kids and babies frowned upon in business class?
They’re allowed. If others don’t like them there, they can always fly private.
Great answer!
Yes, they are frowned upon.
Where do I go to search for flights?
https://www.airfrance.us/
can i fly from tlv-nyc one way for the same 20k miles in june?
https://www.airfrance.us/
plenty of availability in June for 25k miles, but taxes alone are around $150-160 for tlv-jfk!!!
Dan how do you explain that virgin charges way less fuel surcharges tlv-jfk in j then jfk-tlv ?
anything cheaper than this 25k/20k (amex/chase) for economy tickets from TLV-CHI in late spring? need a ticket for my kid to come home after school.
and 2 free checked bags on air france
any way to filter only nonstops (delta)?

Doesn’t look like there are any Delta non-stop flights using flying blue. I confirmed with a phone representative. Should I huca? I searched online the entire September multiple times and then checked on the phone.

Award space is very limited in 2022 due to pent up demand.
I am not sure if there is even ANY award space let alone limited in 2022 for this nonstop route nyc-tlv
There’s a screenshot in this post…
Plenty of 2023 space.
right but nothing in 2022 thats crazy!!
“For example you can fly in coach to Israel for 25K miles or 20K Chase points”
Do you mean on Virgin?
Virgin has non stop NYC to TLV?
Thank you. I see award space direct with Delta Skymiles, but when I go on airfrance to book with miles, and search any date in September (or May) for a direct flight, there is zero availability. I confirmed it with airfrance phone service twice. Should I keep trying or does it not exist? Tysm!
I think you can only book delta nonstop with Flying blue miles if its a true saver award delta flight which I think may be 42.5 miles one way although not positive anybody can confirm its 42.5?
I don’t see any direct flights on Virgin Atlantic from NYC to TLV for the entire September. Does that mean it’s too early to book September, or that all flights are already taken? I want to use flyingblue miles, if the flights ever become available, and I want to know if I should just wait. Ty
Should I transfer Chase points if I am looking for flights to Spain in September
just transferred and booked on airfrance – the miles came through immediately! Also, the flight was discounted from 25k to 18,750 for children.
We are flying Airfrance in July; worried about their masking policy. Supposedly they are makpid on surgical masks! flying back on KLM which is much laxer supposedly.
word to the wise……
hopefully things will have changed by then.
Been looking for NYC-TLV Aug 8/9-21/22 2022
This seems to be the best I can find so far. After the 25% bonus on transfer it will cost me under $600 with a 3 1/2 stop in Paris
Anything better out there I’m missing?? I have Chase UR, United Mileageplus miles and Marriott points
Is israel still requiring PCR test upon arrival – I have israel passport even though I don’t live there since ten years – or are they now doing antigen tests only or are they going to stop this totally soon as I had heard from an Israeli? Please advise.
Still required.
How about kids there mother is an Israeli citizen but they are not , do they need a test before heading out from the US ?
I’m not seeing the major metzia here. JFK-TLV there’s plenty 25k availability. Return is tough to find 25k unless I stay for like 3+ weeks (I wish I could but it’s not realistic). Realistically, a 12-14 day trip roundtrip gonna cost minimum of 64,500 points (after 25% Chase bonus). Add $195 surcharge. At a 1.25 cent PP value it’s +- $1000 per ticket. I can book for $850 right from the Chase portal. What am I missing?
Where is $850 from chase portal? Cheapest I see is $1200?
I was looking Aug 8/9 thru 8/22 or so
LOT is actually $789
Has a stop but so does Air France or KLM
You can book those dates for 56,000 UR at the 30% bonus rate with Air Canada
Fees/taxes leaving TLV-NYC is $150 even when booking via flyingblue. Alternatives?
Imagine a little ignorant about flying blue, do I book through their website? I don’t see how? Is there a post explaining how to do it?
https://wwws.airfrance.us/
Account required to search.
What about from MIA to TLV
Which business class is a better option to Israel between KLM and Air France ?
is this i good choice for flying within the us? NY-Phoenix
can anyone help me.. total newbie at this. i have 200,000 chase and 100,000 citi how do i book a flight for 8/20-8/31 to get this deal?
Thanks Dan! Just booked 2 business class tickets JFK-TLV for aug 29th with 2.5 hr stopover in Paris for 89k chase points +$451 total for both. Awesome!
Question – how do I see grid view of all dates on virgin?
Hi dan! can i still do this? WHat is flying blue never heard of it before.
dan thank you for the post, i am trying to check on flying blue for business class on june 7 nyc tlv, business class and the lowest i find is 700k miles!
also looking for virgin flights for the month of September nyc to london, i cant find any virgin, can you please advise ?
Any summer dates that you know of? I couldn’t find
Asked this question on the transfer to virgin atlantic 30% bonus post but that seems a better value than this one unless there is something i am missing. Would you agree?
Flying Blue gives me an option to book through Air France, KLM, etc. which one do I use?
Dan I’m not sure where you see availability for 50k jfk tlv. Every date I check they 300k-700k. It’s beyond ridiculous
funny how everyone was at a frenzy about KLM last week but if they have good deals to Israel we say screw it and give them your money. never changes!
Uh. What in the world are you talking about?
i think he means the lufthansa scandal
That much I figured.
For JFK-TLV, what is a better move with current point transfer deals, transfer of points to VA, or to Flying Blue?
Ugh. Disgusted. Transferred over 300k last night.
Oy, brutal!
Can’t hurt to call and kvetch and see if they have some goodwill points for you.
I did it from 2 accounts 107k and 213k. On the smaller one they just gave me 7k comp. Better than nothing. Will try the other one later.
Now need a VS bonus before I transfer 375k+
Dan – you really have to redo these numbers. Gone are the days of flying Air France in Business Class for 55k. They have now raised the price to 95k and so for a kid it would be 71,250. Just saying.
VS doesn’t seem to have a way to filter on nonstop anymore. Or am I missing something?
You’re missing something
anything for pesach to tlv?
35k each way in economy is cheapest to israel- don’t see anywhere 25k?
Did flying blue just raise the tax? A few days ago one way from Paris to Miami was 250, now it’s 350.
