Michael

Last week I booked a flight with flying blue miles TLV to NYC with a stopover in LHR operated by Elal/Virgin Atlantic for 66,000 points. I wasn’t able to book for an infant online but when I called them they said they can’t find any availability however they told me that there’s no way for them to add an infant to such a flight being that it’s an award flight bla bla bla… so if I want to add the infant I’ll have to call both operating airlines directly to add the infant. So I just decided to book for the 2 adults online and I called Virgin Atlantic to try to add the infant but they told me that they can’t do anything to this ticket because it’s not owned by them. I called back Air France I tried to speak to the regular reservation dept to try to book for the infant with cash but they said that they have to transfer me to the Flying Blue dept but when I got to the Flying Blue dept they finally explained to me that they could actually add the infant for me but I can’t pay for an infant fare with points so I have to speak to the reservation dept…. as I was on hold waiting for another incompetent rep. to take the phone I decided to put down and call back the Flying Blue dept to see if I’m able to buy a seat for the infant and pay the child fare. I called back and to my luck the rep. managed to find to find the ticket this time (maybe she looked under the couch…) and after being on the phone with Air France at least 4 times and wasting almost an entire day I ended up buying a seat for my infant. My biggest mistake was that I transferred the points before speaking to them you could actually ask them to create a temporary booking for you without paying that expires after 72 hours (however it doesn’t help you too much if the rep. can’t find the ticket) and then transfer the points and call them back to book it.

1 ok on flying blue to book for 2 ppl under specific account (vs create act for each person). 2 if cancel before flight, pay 70 euro pp , miles refunded to account and expire 2 years From when ? From incoming miles from Amex? From flight date ? 3 possible to extend?

Chaim

It’s gr8 that “Short-haul flights like Larnaca-Tel Aviv are just 5K miles”, but how get to Larnaca?

Alex

So if you book a Delta flight woth Flying Blue miles to/from NYC and CDG, you would not have to pay fuel surcharges, but if it’s an air france flight there are surcharges? How would you book the Delta flight with Flying Blue miles?

מורה נבוכים

Flying blue seem to cost $350 in fees for fly nyc -tlv, plus $100 cancel fee per person per segment. Sounds correct ?

If using delta Points on delta site , is 2x one way cost same as one round trip ?

Savs fees on. Cancel if need to rebook after departure. Learnt the hard way
