Signup For An Aegean Account And Get 5,000 Miles!
Offer expires 12/1 at 4:59pm EST.
1,000 elite qualifying miles will post upon account creation and another 4,000 bonus miles will post by 12/15, giving you 5,000 redeemable miles.
Aegean is a Star Alliance member, you can view their Star Alliance award chart here.
Aegean allows you to transfer up to 50K points between accounts for just 15 Euros, which can be worthwhile in this case.
Aegean considers Israel to be part of Europe/North Africa, so you can book a one-way between North America and Europe (including Israel) for just 35K miles in coach or 55K miles in business!
Theoretically that means that 7 members can combine their points into one account for 90 Euros and have enough miles for a free one-way coach ticket on United between the US and Tel Aviv. 11 members can combine their points into one account for 150 Euros and have enough miles for a free one-way business class ticket on United between the US and Tel Aviv.
Whether Aegean will actually allow that to happen is an open question, but post the results if you try it!
Note that Aegean may audit those transfers and ask for proof that they are from legitimate accounts for real people.
Another option is that you only need to fly Aegean twice and earn 12,000 elite qualifying miles, or earn 24,000 elite qualifying miles from any airline, to get Aegean Silver status. Silver status allows you to pool the miles of 6 family members together for free.
Once upon a time I was able to combine Avios accounts when they had a new account offer to get free first class tickets for the family on Cathay Pacific to Vancouver and on AA to Argentina.
Alternatively you can transfer 4,000 Aegean miles into 1,000 Accor points. If you get 2,000 Accor points you can get 40 Euros off your Accor or Fairmont hotel stay.
Aegean does not charge fuel surcharges to fly on Air Canada or United.
A flight within Europe/North Africa (including Israel) is just 15K miles in coach or 25K miles in business class each way.
A flight within North America is 12.5K miles in coach or 21K miles in business class each way.
You can transfer 60K Marriott points into 25K Aegean miles.
Aegean only charges 20 Euros to change or cancel an award ticket and there are no close-in fees.
Aegean miles expire after 5 years, but if you credit any Star Alliance flight to Aegean your points will be extended by another 5 years.

They also don’t charge fuel on tap airlines
And they also audit every single booking not in your name (afaik)
what do you mean? they cancel a issued ticket?
Yes.
are they as strict as aa?
or just as for verification?
Aegean are very tough on miles transfers and if they suspect any fraud they will ask for a mountain of proof before they reinstate your account so I would be very, very careful with this.
“Whether Aegean will actually allow that to happen is an open question, but post the results if you try it!”
This is the error I’m getting when i want to do a transfer “This transaction cannot be completed. Please check Miles+Bonus terms and conditions for your account’s miles transfer eligibility.” Now what?
It actually lets me get to the miles transfer page https://en.aegeanair.com/milesandbonus/my-account/transfer-miles/
But later on when I enter the other account info to transfer a error comes up!

“That allows you to pool the miles of 6 family members together”
Do you mean to say that if I have silver the pooling is free ?
Correct.
What type of proof do they ask for? Can i make an account for each of my children or do they require proof of over 18?
You can make an account for each child; but if they think it’s fraud, then they may ask for a copy of passport or birth certificate to determine legitimacy prior to unfreezing one or more accounts tied to the situation.
How does the “35k miles for US-TLV in coach” element work? Afaik they don’t fly transatlantic, so is this assuming a NYC/BOS etc leg to London/Paris and then via Athens onwards to TLV?
They will book you on United.
The 5k miles are instantly put in. Also Aegean has not been expiring miles for quite awhile.
Tried today? Seems like the terms changed.

I have combined accounts numerous times they normally audit accounts within a few days so only do it if you have proper proof of address and all is legit
Wuy do you call it combined accounts if its just a transfer of miles? especially if your its just a portion like 4000 miles & your still keeping that account with 1000 miles. Its just a transfer not a combine.
Their terms say miles don’t expire!
you can make for all your kids in my experience they will accept passport for id
Which airports can u fly out of in america?
your right i meant combining the miles not the accounts. just opening a few accounts at one time can trigger audit on all accounts. as long as you have id and proof of address your good to go. they can also track down cc used, if used for more then one pool…..
Used to have an acct w/ them ’till very recently. Can I reopen & benefit from the bonus if I closed my acct w/ them just a week ago or so? Have never flown w/ them, just had a registered acct.
do member have to be a specific age?
Above 2 I believe
Does agean silver status give you star alliance silver privileges?
Yes.
I opened one account for myself, when I try to open one for my wife as well, I get the following message.
You have already created an account with the same personal data. Please login with your email address or your member ID and password.
Is there a limit of one per address & they pick up that I am using the same address for myself & my wife? Or do they have an issue with me using the same IP address?
Try incognito
is this still live?
Anyone know when there giving that bonus 4000 miles
Didn’t get it either
I Got the emails
Too bad I forgot to do all my kids
“To reach the Silver Tier, all you need to do is fly with Aegean or Olympic Air at least twice and earn 12.000 Tier Miles within 12 months or collect a total 24.000 Tier Miles, regardless of which airline you choose to fly with. Whichever you do first will get you there.”
Does that mean silver status can happen through other star alliance airlines? If so, how?
What’s gonna be with the 5000 miles sitting in each account waiting to merge them, there still not allowing to transfer or merge accounts.
