You can get a 30% bonus for point transfers from Chase to BA, Iberia, or Aer Lingus Avios. You can also transfer BA Avios to Finnair Avios or Qatar Avios, where you can redeem awards for fewer miles. You can combine Avios via this link via the BA site.

With this bonus 1,000 Chase points transfers into 1,300 Avios. This promotion runs through 10/31.

Avios aren’t what they used to be. British Airways seems to devalue them every few months, bringing them from first to worst in no time.

You can also save with the Qatar award chart or the Finnair award chart, which is the only Avios program that doesn’t charge per leg flown.

You can search for award availability using BA Avios here. Finnair or Qatar should be able to book any award space that you find using BA Avios for fewer Avios, but you may need to call them to book.

Here are some highlights:

  • A short-haul JetBlue award like NYC-Fort Lauderdale can be booked for 8.5K Qatar Avios (~6.5K Chase points).
  • A short-haul AA award like NYC-Cleveland can be booked for 9.5K Qatar Avios (~7.3K Chase points).
  • A domestic AA coach award like NYC-LA can be booked for 11K Finnair Avios (~8.4K Chase points).
  • A domestic AA first-class award like NYC-LA can be booked for 30K Finnair Avios (~23K Chase points).
  • An AA coach award to Hawaii can be booked for 15K Finnair Avios (~11.5K Chase points).
  • An AA first class award to Hawaii can be booked for 38K Finnair Avios (~29.2K Chase points).
  • A transatlantic JetBlue coach award like NYC-Amsterdam, London, or Paris can be booked for 25K Qatar Avios (~19.2K Chase points).
  • A transatlantic JetBlue MINT business class award like NYC-Amsterdam, London, or Paris can be booked for 78K Qatar Avios (60K Chase points) with excellent availability!

Melvin

So if I’m transferring to BA Avios account, would I just call BA & ask to book via Qatar or is there a specific spot on BA’s site to transfer to Qatar?
(earlier I didn’t see a “button” that would allow me to transfer Avios elsewhere)

Shaina

Any idea when the next bonus transfer will happen?
