If you have a JetBlue Plus World Elite Mastercard you always get free checked bags and a 10% points rebate, but in this case you’ll get a full 25% rebate as both the 10% rebate and the 15% rebate will come off the original points rate paid. The card comes with a 30K signup bonus for spending $1,000 in 90 days. It has a $99 annual fee but it also comes with 5,000 bonus points (5,500 after the rebate) every year that pretty much covers the cost of the card. If you’re a big spender you can even earn JetBlue Mosaic status that comes with 15K bonus points and awesome benefits like 2 free checked bags and free flight cancellations and changes.
What are JetBlue points worth? It all depends on the flights you take, but here are some examples:
-A flight from Long Beach to Las Vegas on 12/17 is $39.20 or 1.9K points+$5.60. That’s normally a value of 1.77 cents per point (39.20-5.60/1,900). With the 15% rebate you’ll pay 1,615 points after getting back back 285 points and the value will be 2.08 cents per point (39.20-5.60/1,615). With a 25% rebate you’ll pay 1,425 points after getting back 475 points and the value will be 2.36 cents per point (39.20-5.60/1,425).
-A flight from Newark to Fort Lauderdale on 1/22 is $40.20 or 2K points+$5.60. That’s normally a value of 1.73 cents per point (40.20-5.60/2,000). With the 15% rebate you’ll pay 1,700 points after getting back back 300 points and the value will be 2.04 cents per point (40.20-5.60/1,700). With a 25% rebate you’ll pay 1,500 points after getting back 500 points and the value will be 2.3 cents per point (40.20-5.60/1,500).
-A flight from JFK to Los Angeles on 12/5 is $118.20 or 7.8K points+$5.60. That’s normally a value of 1.44 cents per point (118.20-5.60/7,800). With the 15% rebate you’ll pay 6,630 points after getting back back 1,170 points and the value will be 1.7 cents per point (118.20-5.60/6,630). With a 25% rebate you’ll pay 5,850 points after getting back 1,950 points and the value will be 1.92 cents per point (118.20-5.60/5,850).
Or for example if you want to fly in a private walled-in Mint suite with 2 free bags, lie-flat seating, an amenity kit, and a multi-course kosher meal:
-A redeye flight from Los Angeles to JFK on 1/6 is $558.20 or 42.2K points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.31 cents per point (558.10-5.60/42,200). With the 15% rebate you’ll pay 35,870 points after getting back back 6,330 points and the value will be 1.54 cents per point (558.10-5.60/35,870). With a 25% rebate you’ll pay 31,650 points after getting back 10,550 points and the value will be 1.75 cents per point (558.10-5.60/31,650).

I booked Grenada to JFK last week for 18k points before the 15% rebate. It was the last seat available but goes to show there are some true gems out there. The flight is over 5 hours of mint suite vibes! Thanks dan!! I can’t say that enough.
Nice!
What about a flight that was booked before this date?
Read the post.
If my wife has the credit card and I transferred her points to my account through family pooling, can we still get the CC points rebate?
Transfer them back?
I have Mosaic status. Will I get all the benefits if I book from her account for me? I’ll take a look but I thought you could only transfer them once a year.
Points vs cash back.
If all these points( with a 25% rebate) are still only worth 2.3 cents, and generally worth between 1 and 2 cents why shouldn’t I just get a card with 2% cash back. Is there Benifts that are so good that outway this? I have a many cards miles and cash back and I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing
Thanks
Because you can earn 2 points per dollar on a card like AMEX Blue Business Plus.
I have the JET BLUE BUSINESS card. So do I get 15% rebate PLUS the 10% rebate the business card gives to total 25% also?
Yes.
If i have the personal and biz cc does that mean its a effective 35% off?
Thanks
If you normally get 20% off, then you should get 35% now!
Is it something not everyone gets ?
I just got the biz card so not sure if i am getting 20% yet as i didn’t fly since the biz card arrived
Do you get points back for Even More Space mileage when booked together with a reservation? I’m a mosaic member this year so the Even More Space seats aren’t too expensive with miles.
