You can buy up to 500,000 points at that rate, which would set you back some $2,500.
If you need more points you can buy more points from another account and transfer points between accounts enrolled in business rewards.

I have found that in many cases it will make sense to buy points, though I wouldn’t buy more than you need for the short-term as they’re always subject to devaluation.

It is VERY hard not to get less than 0.6 in value post taxes when booking 4 night stays. Even harder when also getting 10 percent rebate on points usage from select CC . In fact I maintain diamond status PURELY using this method and come out ahead even with the 16 cents per dollar rebate (32 points per dollar) I would have gotten as a diamond member plus using IHG card. (Yes most of my ihg travel is in Asia where 40 usd per night or less post points rebate (i.e. 8800 points per night pre rebatecon 4 night stays is common using this method.
I meant not to get MORE than .6 cents.
