We have reservations at Tryp later this week, after Cairo. We hear that they no longer include breakfast with points booking. We booked 6+ months ago, so we will see…
No breakfast on points unless you want to pay $20 p/p, doesn’t matter when you booked.
Is breakfast free on award stays?
Breakfast is not included, I stayed in November using points.

Hi Dan, The expiration of Wyndham points is confusing – it seems all points don’t expire at the same time even if you have a paid stay at the Wyndham – is that true? I have an account and half my points are expiring one date and the other half another date? I’d really appreciate if you can clarify this for me!

ugly new hotel but not the worst – one of the contenders for that award would have to go to Leonardo Plaza, across the street. there’s something unique and beautiful abt Jerusalem but clueless & greedy developers are always working to put up ugly buildings, buildings ghat might be unremarkable, mediocre, in other cities but, which in Jerusalem, are insults, scars.
How are cash + points refunded?

I searched 15 random dates before posting. They all had availability for 7.5K points.

Netanya and Hadera are notoriously bad for not opening up award space. Not sure if they’ve been forced to change since I last complained about them last January. I was sitting on 30k points that I had gotten for EITHER of those hotels but I realized that it wasnt my dates that were the problem. THEY HAD ZERO DATES OPEN! EVER
At first, corporate told me they were one of the few properties that didn’t participate in free nights for points. After speaking to several managers, miraculously, rooms eventually opened up! Shocking!
I only did this because a friend told me that they were sneaky and pretend to be sold out of eligible point rooms….Just FYI if youre banking on those hotels…
seems like a pretty simple no frills small rooms property for for $70 a night in Jerusalem within the wyndham umbrella its a no brainer
Anyone have an opinion on whether I should keep a point booking at Crowne plaza or cancel and use this hotel?
For proximity to shuk and Kotel and shuls, Tryp is better. We had two nights at CP and cancelled to book here when opportunity arose.

4 nights at Crowne Plaza can be had for 54,000 points (after 4th night free and 10% rebate) – (worth about $270).
4 night at TRYP would be about $278 based on this rate.

Yup, TRYP is better located.
TRYP Jerusalem is great for price, just know rooms are tiny, no breakfast, no bathroom privacy and hard to shower without water going on floor. But location cant be beat and it is pretty new.

The TRYP Jerusalem at 7500 points in an excellent deal, especially if you don’t already have IHG points. The other chains in Israel seem to generally have poor redemption values. That said, I did some searching in other locations and I didn’t find great value. Most properties are at 15K points, and aren’t deals at $140 in points. I would not buy points at this price to hold for prospective stays, only definite stays that you’re going to immediately book.

Crown Plaza is not across the street from the Tyrp. Cp is near Binyanei Hauma and Tyrp is in town.
