After a nearly 2 year hiatus, Air Canada has restored the ability to create a family sharing mileage pool.

8 family members can join together to share points and members with redemption privileges granted by the family leader can redeem for awards. If any family member has a primary Air Canada credit card, all members will be able to take advantage of preferred pricing. Family members can include a spouse or partner, children, siblings, in-laws, parents, grandparents or anyone else in your family.

It won’t be easy though. The airline paused the program due to fraud and will now only allow verified Air Canada accounts to join. Here is how you can verify your account.

Your account will also need to be 6 months old to join a pool and you must stay in a pool for at least 3 months before you can leave. You can only be in 1 pool at a time.

Other airlines with various forms of family pooling include JetBlue, United, Air France, ANA, BA, Emirates, Etihad, Frontier, JAL, Korean, Qantas, Qatar, Singapore, Spirit, Turkish, and Virgin Atlantic.

Do you belong to any mileage pools?

I don’t belong to any, Dan do you belong to any pool? And are there any benefit of joining a pool together? ( I saw you wrote by air Canada if 1 person has status or card. It will benefit all I’m wondering if by JetBlue there is any benefit).
