DansDeals Forum member “bubbles” reports that you can get 10,000 membership rewards points for each additional cardholder you add to your American Express Charge Card.
Forum members have reported success getting these points on additional cards added to cards like the American Express Platinum Card and the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card. People have been able to get points for cards added in the past as well as get the code notated in the accounts for cards being added now.
Additional cardholders must be at least 15 and you do need to give a date of birth and social security number. You need to spend $1 on the additional card to get the points.
American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card: No fee to add additional cardholders.
American Express Platinum Card: You can add up to 5 additional gold cardholders onto a Platinum account for $45 total (which comes out to $9 per card) and you’ll get 50,000 points!
Just call the Membership Rewards department at 1-800-AXP-EARN and mention offer code: 5721. Or call the number on the back of your card.

Can I add 5 AUs to the Gold and another 5 AUs to the Platinum for $90 ($45-45) and that would give me a total of 100k points?
I was told by amex its only for gold and not zinc cards. if i upgrade my card to gold will they pull my credit?

Call and add 5 Gold AU’s to your Gold and they will charge you $45, then add 5 AU’s to your Platinum and they will charge you another $45.
Got 50K points on my premier rewards gold.

Dan, I got 75000 offer in the mail for gold amex .I wanted to know does it hurt my credit if i cancel the card just like any other cc or since it is a charge card it doesnt effect as much… thnks for everything

The first 5 Additional Cardmembers/AU’s on gold are FREE.
On Platinum, you can add 1-5 additional cards at the “gold level” for a flat $45. (the “gold level” means that they are under your platinum card, but only get the benefits of gold. If you want them to have the platinum benefits, it’s $175 per additional card)
Some encouragement for those who don’t get it on the first call:
I had to call MR three times – All in the space of half hour.
First call: As soon as the rep heard me talk about the 10K for additional cardholders, she told me that it is only available for targeted accounts.
So I hung up and immediately called again.
Second call: The rep had no idea what I was talking about. Spend 5 minutes looking up offer code 5721, and came back saying that it must be something cardmember services deals with, so he transferred me to that department. The rep from that department had no idea what I was talking about, so looked it up for 5 minutes and came back aplogising that she couldn’t help me.
So I hung up and immediately called again.
Third call: As soon as the rep heard me talk about the 10K for additional cardholders, she says “sure, I can help you with that!” She didn’t even ask me for the offer code 5721. She notated my account, and she then transferred me to cardmember services to add the additionals. When the cardmember services rep heard that I want to add 5 additionals, she says, “this must be for the 10K offer for additional cardholders, right?” She was more than happy to help, and I did not need to supply SSN’s.

Just spent 10 min on the phone with starwoods, the rep even checked dansdeals to see what i was referring to. He said it only applies to membership reward amex cards, as starwoods is a diff program it doesn’t work.

Best part about Platinum additional cards?
The fee to add them is refunded if you cancel the added cards within 60 days and the additional cardholders (and their entire family with them) can still use the cancelled cards to access lounges for free!

I seem to be getting a lot of “targeted toward Argentinian customers only” when I call..
I have Business Platinum Amex and they gave me 5 Gold cards for no charge the first year, 50,000 total points. Took half an hour on the phone with 3 different representatives. Just had to give them the social security numbers and birthdays. Thanks Dan!

I was just told by 2 seperate agents that this offer was only meant for the Arentinian market and that unless you can fax a copy of the email there is no way they will give it!!! Seems like the party is over!!!!

AMEX has been excellent in keeping their promises and honoring other promo like 100k for the platinum and 75 for premier gold.

It was destroyed because of Sinas Chinom – baseless hatred. This doesn’t apply here, as the hatred is not “baseless”, but rather because a guy ruined an excellent deal, and potential cash for a lot of people here. This also may cause American Express to start monitoring this website.

Just called AmEx to inquire about by points for Promo 5721 (10,000 membership rewards points for each additional cardholder you add to your American Express Charge Card.) They say the promo was only valid for the Latin America market. For those of us not in that market, this deal was dead from the start and a waste of time.
